No-Clean Flux for cored solder wire was developed to provide superior wetting performance for hand soldering in the electronics industry. The chemistry is based on some of the same principles that have been safely used for years in mildly activated rosin fluxes. The use of 275 No-Clean Flux results in an extremely clear post-soldering residue without cleaning. The unique chemistry in 275 was also designed to reduce spattering common to most core fluxes. 275 can be used for both lead-free and leaded soldering. 275 is classified as ROL0 per J-STD-004.

Bought this after reading countless forums saying Kester solder was the best of the best. To be honest, not sure what all the hype is about. It worked fine, but nothing above and beyond the many other brands I have tried so far. This particular solder smokes a lot and I ended up having to heat much higher to get a good flow with my weller soldering iron. The splatter levels were relatively low, which is nice. Definitely have to setup my fume extractor whenever I use this solder.

This is the best lead-free solder I've ever used. None of the flow problems or peaks that SAC305 and similar alloys sometimes have.

Works great with enough heat. I'm no pro solderer, but use this on a few SMT parts and it works well.

Despite all the hype about silver bearing solder even though the silver content is very low, silver bearing solder does not leave a glossy finish even when done correctly but rather a satin finish. Silver bearing solder also shrinks besides looking like a cold joint with lead solder. Kester did their homework with this one. As a diyer I can easily use lead bearing solder, but I want to get used to using lead free as I suspect at some point there will be pressure to take lead bearing solder off the market. To be Rohs compliant commercially you cannot use any lead.
