LEVOIT Superior 6000S Designed to Enhance Your Whole House Comfort and Well-being!

The principle of LEVOIT Exclusive Evaporative Tech:

Evaporative technology utilizes a high-speed fan to create a spiraling air current that accelerates water evaporation, ensuring effective air circulation throughout the entire space, thus enhancing environmental humidity.

The benefits of LEVOIT Exclusive Evaporative Tech:

1. Enhanced mist distribution: By drawing in air and emitting ultra-fine water particles, it efficiently humidifies your entire home, covering an expansive area of up to 3,000 sq. ft.

2. Even Humidity Everywhere: Our built-in fan promotes uniform and rapid humidity control throughout the room.

3. Hidden Pure Moisture: The evaporative humidifier emits no white dust, and no mist, meanwhile, not wet furniture.

4. Due to supply chain adjustments, some units now come with a gray filter instead of the blue one. This change does not affect the product's performance or filtration efficiency.

Note:

1. Suitable for all water types, including tap water.

2. The filter lasts 3-6 months, depending on the environment and water quality.

3. To protect the water pump, we recommend our valued users use a water filter sponge to better remove impurities and foreign matter in the water, keep the water pump smooth, and achieve better humidification effects.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Why does a yellow substance or white scale appear on the surface of the filter?

--Residue or discoloration on the filter is due to filtering impurities like calcium and magnesium ions from water. Our tests confirm that it has no impact on air quality or humidification efficiency. Feel free to use it for over 3 months.

Why the humidity on the screen is different from the household hygrometer?

--In tests, the sensor, placed 1m from the humidifier, maintains humidity accuracy within 5%.

Is there a designated installation orientation for the filters?

--When installing the filters, please ensure that the section with the silk-screen print is facing upwards.

Why the target humidity cannot be fixed in auto mode?

--Auto mode is the humidity range set by the machine as most suitable for the human body. If you want to customize the humidity, you can choose the humidity mode.

First off, ours had a problem. After about 2 weeks of use it started to squeal. I contacted support, they asked for a video to diagnose the problem, then offered to replace our unit at no charge and with free shipping. The replacement took a bit over a week to arrive. All products will have defects, what matters to me is how the company responds and Levoit gets an A+ from me here. What you should know:- You're going to want 2 of these to meaningfully cover 3000sqft through the winter... running on HIGH through the day and at least on medium through the night.- The low setting is very quiet and can easily keep a single large room comfortable, maybe up to 300+ sqft.- Because of how water is pumped up to the wicks, of course any extra needs a way back into the tank. If you have a quiet room you're probably going to find the resulting dripping very annoying. With creative use of some kitchen twine you can give that water a route back to the tank that doesn't involve falling. I'd love to see Levoit solve this problem in future models.- The included cleaning brush is designed to perfectly match the wick's fin spacing making adequately cleaning the wicks possible and we've gotten a full winters use out of the wicks that came with the unit(s).- Use a bacteriostatic to keep the biofilm buildup from happening. I didn't for the first half of the winter and had a long afternoon of using StarSan cleaning out the biofilm. I'm a homebrewer so I had StarSan on hand - baby bottle sanitizer would also do the job if you have little ones - or of course I'm sure there are other humidifier cleaners that work too - I'd avoid something like bleach. This cleanup made me appreciate the high quality silicone tubing used, it was full of gunk and after killing it, that gunk came right out with the pressure from my sink faucet spray jet. What I found:As we had an "extra" humidifier that we didn't want to use as-is, one of my boys and I did a teardown on it to see if we could salvage it. The engineering, material choices, and design considerations were impressive.- All screws were ACTUALLY stainless steel, not nickel plated junk. And there were quite a few screws.- The circuit board was conformally coated to protect it from moisture. This is very important for longevity of a product like this.- All connectors were siliconed in to ensure they don't work loose.- As we took it apart the robustness of the design and the quality of the design for manufacturing made it obvious that whatever team designed this product knew how to do it and that this product probably went through considerable revisions to reach its current level of refinement.- The fan assembly involved (probably) ABS blades very well glued over a large diameter machined aluminum slug (maybe 1.5inch dia) which then slid over the motor shaft. We were not able to non-destructively remove this assembly, so we didn't. This construction allows for much more precise, and longer lasting, mounting than if the whole assembly was plastic being pushed right onto the small diameter motor shaft as is typical on the market. What was wrong with our unit:The fan assembly was pressed too far onto the motor shaft leaving insufficient clearance and the fan assembly was just barely rubbing on the chassis. Despite considerable efforts I could find no way to non-destructively remove or loosen that assembly, believe me I tried.Short term fix: My first "fix" for this was to sharply strike the top of the motor armature with a 2oz hammer, this "fixed" it for a couple of weeks - more than long enough for the replacement unit to arrive. Unfortunately it started squealing again and repeated strikes stopped doing the trick.Fix that's holding so far (2+mo): A little silicone lubricant (DeoxIT X10S) applied to where the fan assembly could rub the chassis. As the cold season is winding down I've finally put it back together. I clipped off the fan guard so I can get in there to lube it again if needed next year. And yes, I really could leave it disassembled and still use it because of the excellent design choices made - basically the outer cover is optional if you try hard enough to get it off ;) There's an inner frame that can be used alone to support the fan unit.

August 2024 -This is more of a preview of my review as I have just bought this item and won't start using it until late September probably. I live in Minnesota and the air in the winter time is super dry and I use a humidifier in my 900 sq ft condo from late September until early April to battle all the issues that come with dry air.The last several years I've been using the 6 gallon Airfare humidifier and it has been a workhorse - very effective, super simple design however I've always been on the look out for a more attractive looking, more functional humidifier with maybe a little bit of tech involved and that also had a 4-6 gallon tank - very hard to find - however I think this item will fit the bill. I probably use 2-3 gallons of water in the dead of winter every day in a humidifier to keep my home humidity in the 35-45% range. My very initial thoughts on this product are - great design and build. Super simple set up. The app worked fine - it found the device and connected to it with no issue. The fan is whisper quiet on level 1 - and still very quiet on level 2. Even on level 1 and 2 the fan output upwards seem very good - moving a lot of air.I will update this review with more detail in a couple months with more detail once I actually start to use it.OCTOBER 2024 - UPDATEI have finally been able to begin using this humidifier regularly now that the weather and temps have gotten cooler and the air drier in the Minneapolis area. I am really liking this humidifier, it works well.Probably the one thing I appreciate is that the fan directs the air out of the device straight up - so it hits the room ceiling and spreads out - so it really helps circulate the moist air, in fact all the air in the room efficiently.I love the 'night mode' as the fan just runs at a very low speed all night - the display turns off and it just provides a constant level of humidity all night. I move the humidifier into my bedroom at night. The fan speed is low and there is no noise that I can hear from the fan.I'm also able to set up a schedule in the app so it goes into night mode automatically every night at 10:00 p.m. and another schedule sets it to 'auto' mode in the morning. The app also tracks the humidity level and fan speed so you can see the history of your room humidity. The wheels are a great feature but if you have 5-6 gallons of water and try to move it on carpet good luck - they just don't work - you need to grab the lip of the tank and lift it up a bit to move it on the wheels on carpet - but on hard surfaces it moves fine.Overall still like this humidifier a lot - provides a little bit of technology to a basically simple device which is what I like. The display is gorgeous and the overall look of this humidifier looks like something Apple would design.DECEMBER 2024 UPDATEWe are now in the middle of winter here in Minnesota. The air is very dry. The dewpoint ranges from 0 to 20° so the outdoor air is very dry and the humidifier is running very regularly in my one bedroom condominium. This is one of the reasons I really need a humidifier with a large 5 to 6 gallon capacity otherwise I would be filling the humidifier up way too often as it is with these conditions. I’m using 5 to 6 gallons of water once every 24 to 36 hours.I’m still really loving this humidifier. It’s probably the most attractive looking humidifier on the market so it adds to your home overall look the efficiency of it and the connection to the app on your phone are great and it has been working flawlessly with no issues. As noted it uses a lot of water this time of year where I live so I do have to fill it up once every 1 to 2 days and during that time I use the opportunity to do some light cleaning on the device. Typically, I will take some Lysol bleach spray and spray it into the empty water tank area. Let it sit for a couple minutes before rinsing it out with hot water, drying it with a towel and then refilling it with clean water. I’ll also wipe down the moisture that accumulates around the top portion. One of my initial concerns with this device was that it was not using a bacteriostat treatment in the water, but I’m not seen that as an issue now as I just spend a few extra minutes making sure I clean the device when refilling the water tank. The one minor complaint I have about the device is I am noticing that when the water tank gets low, there are some droplets of water that drip from the top portion where the fan is down into the water tank so you can hear a drip drip drip sound, however when the water tank is more full, those droplets don’t have as far to fall so you don’t hear that dripping sound. This is not really an issue unless the device is near your bed. It may bother you, but if it’s in another room if not an issue when you’re sleepingI did replace the filters after two months of use. I probably could have gotten more use out of them, but I just wanted to replace them regardless and anticipate that I will replace them 2 to 3 times over a six month period in the winter months when I’m using the device. The only other minor complaint I have about the device is at times the fan speed will kick up to a very high level as it’s trying to raise the humidity level to the point it wants to, and that loud fan noise can be a little distracting however I can quickly change the setting via the phone on my app or walk over to it and change the setting to reduce the fan speed if it becomes bothersome to me, which is rare.JANUARY 2025Well we are in the middle of a very cold snap here in Minnesota - temps in single digits and the dew point is around 0 degrees. So super dry air outdoors and the humidifier is using 5-6 gallons of water per day - I typically fill it up every night but I'm feeling cozy and comfortable in my one bedroom condo. I do feel that the 'night mode' puts the fan speed at a nice low level for sleeping however I'm not sure it is enough to properly keep my condo at the level of humidity I want so sometimes I put it on manual mode with fan speed at level 2.I'm also figuring out a good cleaning regimen every time I fill it with water - I have some Clorox Multi Surface Cleaner and Bleach spay bottle - I just empty the water tank and spray the inside of the water resovoir with the bleach spray and let it sit for a couple minutes then use my kitchen faucet hose to simply rinse out the tank and dry it quick before refilling. I do notice that at some point there is some pink or yellow build up in the middle section where the filters are so periodically I remove the filters - again, spray the plastic area with the bleach, let it sit for a minute then rinse and wipe it down before replacing the filters. This of course is normal with standing water in a device when no chemicals are used to inhibit this growth but the overall cleaning effort is minimal and it's designed in a way to make it easy to clean these surfaces.FEBRUARY 2025 - updating this again in late January 2025 as I did a cleaning session on this item and noticed some pink slime build-up in the middle plastic section - the portion that covers the water tank - there are some nooks and crannies that aren't easily reachable and I had to remove the 4 screws that hold the two pieces together that allowed me to get in there and clean it more deeply. I did notice a little pink buildup inside the hose for the water tank - I'm not sure how I'll clean that - hoping the citric acid will help remove that as directed in the cleaning instructions.

Updated review at January 3, 2024:After almost 1 month of constant 24/7 use of my 6 Gallon LEVOIT Smart Evaporative Humidifier for up to 3000ft², I learned from the company I purchase this machine’s filters from that the discolouration - even after just 24 hours of use - is totally normal and an expected result of filtering out impurities in the water used. So that’s a relief that it’s not growing algae on the filters. Actually, after using 100% distilled water in my humidifier for this past month since that first fill of municipal tap-water, the filters have not shown any further discolouration. So no doubt the distilled water will likely extend the life of the filters, and possibly the machine as well.But….after a cost-analysis of using Distilled Water vs, tap water in this humidifier, it’s more cost effective and practical to just use tap water. It would cost me $1,700 per year in Distilled Water (as the machine is averaging 32 Litres per week). So even if using tap water in the humidifier cause more wear and tear and build-up resulting in (worst case scenario) needing to replace the filters monthly (at $107.26 CAD including taxes and delivery) and yearly replacement of the humidifier at $346.50 CAD (includes taxes and free delivery), I’d still save $70/year and wouldn’t have to haul all the jugs of Distilled Water to use in the humidifier! So I feel it’s economically worth the risk to use tap water in this humidifier, and if I can stretch the rate of filter and machine replacement, I’ll save even more money yearly.I’ll update this review if I learn anything further. For now I’m extremely happy with my cute little robot-looking Humidifier I’ve named “Robbie”, haha!——-My original review:My 6 Gallon LEVOIT Smart Evaporative Humidifier for up to 3000ft² is already growing algae on the evaporative filter media after only 24 hours of use of this brand new machine. The humidifier was delivered by Amazon at 3:30pm December 8, 2023. I immediately unpackaged, filled it with tap-water as instructed and started it on the highest speed to see how long it could boost my humidity levels from their current 10% in my home and to see how it performs after going through a full tank of water. We’ll it sure does humidify the air really well in my 1100 square foot residence. Within just 3 hours my humidity went from 10% to 35% (I am using a separate hygrometer to determine the accuracy of the actual humidifier’s humidity gauge which does appear to be very accurate after 1 day of use at least). After 8 hours it was up to 58% humidity. It used a full tank of water (21 Litres/6 Gallons) in 24 hours of use on the highest speed by 4pm December 9, 2023. When I went to refill it, I had a good look at the evaporative filter media and it is already turning green in spots and the residual water at the bottom of the humidifier’s tank was very visibly yellow in colour. My municipal water in my city is among the very best quality water in the world (I live I Edmonton, Alberta Canada and we have award-winning water quality…and I work with water quality specialists who have confirmed this), so I observed the water was clean and clear going into the humidifier.I have since opted to fill the humidifier this time with 100% distilled water and I’ll see if it makes any difference to the algae growth I’m seeing on the filter.I bought this evaporative humidifier because of its claims to produce healthier humidified air as the filter is not sitting directly in water all the time - instead water flows across the filter and evaporates so the filter shouldn’t be growing algae - especially within just 24 hours of use!I’ll update my review when I’ve had a chance to determine if the distilled water is solving the algae growth issue with this humidifier’s filter.

Firstly the reviews for this product on amazon are mostly for another product. You can see the photos summited are for another humidifier model. They switched the product so they can use the good ratings of another product to boost the sales of the new product. Amazon need to do something about this but they turn a blind eye.I think lot of people just don't tighten the seal properly then they get leaks then leave unhelpful reviews. For me, this product is great. Very easy to use. Only problem is you get a gluping sound which may be a problem when using in the bedroom for light sleepers. I got used to it in a few days and no longer a problem. And I think a top-fill version would have been more convenient.I use with brita filtered water and have to refill everyday for highest setting or every 2 days for lowest setting. I get quite a bit of limescale so I wash it every few weeks with a brush. It's kind of a hassle to use this way but it will reduce limescale and i suspect will prolong the product life. The remotecontrol and buttons on the unit are very simple to use, very intuitive. It's not silent, though it is very quiet. It's a bit more noisy if you use the heating feature.Has an auto shut off when it runs out of water.Overall I'm very happy with this product. If i get 2 years use of it i'll consider it money very well spent.
