I am really loving this portable light stand from Freesea. The entire stand folds down super compact into it's very own storage bag and is extremely stable when unfolded. I love that the legs twist to lock/unlock allowing for easy balancing when setting up on uneven terrain and the center column is able to extend a lot taller than I need for most occasions while staying super stable. The construction feels solid made almost entirely of aluminum. Although the unit is a little on the pricier side, this stand is extremely solid and portable when needed. Definitely a good piece of equipment to invest in if you are someone who is filming/shooting on the go often.

Rugged, more functional, and much higher quality than my original starter set.We started doing some product pictures for work so we bought basic photo both starter stuff: ring lights, bigger lights with reflectors, backdrops, camera and phone mounts and some cheap tripods. They're all fine but we got what we paid for. This Freesea tripod was our first upgrade, and it's definitely an improvement. Their photos of the product are well done and accurate, so I don't think uploading my own really adds anything. But I can give my hands on impressions of the actual tripod.First, it definitely looks nice. That probably makes no functional difference, but just liking at it, it looks legit. My original tripods are obviously just not in the same class. The aluminum constitution is much stronger, more rigid, and more stable. The knurled aluminum twist locks are much better than the old plastic quick cams on others. When extending anything, the provide a solid tight fit.Speaking of extending, not only will the center mat extend in 3 sections but he legs extend in 2 sections as well. This is the biggest plus for me so far because it makes this Freesea tripod MUCH easier to use on stairs or on uneven ground. Plus it just gives you the possibility of extra height. With everything fully extended, I can set my lights over 7 feet high for a wider cast and better angle.Even the carrying case is an upgrade from the nylon sacks that came with my others. The shoulder strap seems minor, but it's a huge help when lugging a bunch of gear. All around this is just a superior, more professional quality tripod in every single aspect than the entry level junk.Of course that does come with tradeoffs. Even though it's aluminum, it's just more robust and that adds weight. This one weighs in just a bit over 3 pounds. My old cheap ones are about 1.5. If I'm set up in my living room, then I DEFINITELY appreciate the higher quality! When I'm lugging everything somewhere else, then the extra 1.5 lbs x 4 or 5 tripods could start to add up. I'm still going to pack this one every time because it's just so much better quality. But while I'm carrying them, I'm going to notice the extra weight. And the cost is higher as well. At $70, it's a reasonable price for what you're getting. You could find some for a little less, and others for a lot more. My starter set came with multiple tripods that were less than $70 all together. But they're clearly in a much lower class when it comes to quality and durability. So, you get what you pay for.If you want quality without being too heavy and without breaking the bank, then get these Freesea. You definitely get your money's worth. If you're just starting and you want to try a cheap set first, then definitely keeps these in mind when you decide to upgrade. A 5 start product for sure.
