It is wooden and it is in the shape of a rolling pin. Left as it came off the lathe and not even sanded. Once I sand it a few times and put a couple of coats of mineral oil on it, it will finally be ready to use.I could have made it myself for just a little more effort than is needed to get this usable.You get what you pay for!

Better than “American” rolling pins in my opinion. Super easy to use, easy to clean. I mainly just use to make cinnamon rolls. I love it. No trouble at all!
