This is reasonably authentic and practical. I think it's a great kit because you can pick your own tea cup separately, which is more dependent on price and preference. The tools, they need to be functional and it's good that they are authentic bamboo. The best part is that as a set, it is priced very reasonably so there is no reason to buy these separately. You can save much time and hassle by just getting the set, and then perhaps upgrade individually as time goes on if you decide to go deeper into the tea ceremony for example.

While I don’t drink green tea as frequently as I would like to, I have to admit that this set has just about everything that you will need whether you’re starting out or just simply looking to replace worn out items. The bamboo whisk unfolded beautifully in the warm water as I was waiting for the tea to dissolve. I got everything nice and frosty with it! The bamboo pieces are great for scooping out your tea and also for scraping the sides. Well, you might not need either of these, it just adds to the authenticity of using bamboo for the ceremony. Having the strainer was a big plus as well because sometimes you just get large pieces you need to smooth out. A very nice set!

I am yet to use this however the materials feel like they will get the job done, but if a rough texture however I ain’t gonna call that a deal breaker if the matcha it allows me to make is of equal flavor to what I’m making now or better. The materials do feel very firm

Although these are not authentic Japanese matcha utensils, they are high quality and an absolutely fantastic value. I’ve attached a photo with these items on the left next to their authentic Japanese counterparts on the right, so you can see differences in size. That being the case, this set is absolutely adequate for home use, or even a great beginners set for chanoyu (tea ceremony) students. And these are absolutely perfect for making matcha lattes. The main thing that makes this set amazing, though, is that a single chasen (tea whisk) in Japan costs more than this entire set, and the spoon and strainer can be used for myriad other kitchen tasks. You really can’t beat this deal, and it is great quality for what you get.

I like this set of tea ceremony pieces because I did not need an entire one. My chasen was worn down in the center so I needed a replacement. My chashaku, furui, and bamboo teaspoon did not need to be replaced yet; thanks to this set, I have back-ups ready to swap in.

This set of tools to make matcha is decent quality. If you are looking for replacement tools for your existing kit or are just wanting some tools to make the occasional drink but don't need the "matcha" experience. It provides the tools you will need to make your drink but doesn't include some of the fancier items like the drying container for the whisk or small whisking bowl with pour spout. There are many sets with varying combinations of tools for about the same price, but all of the sets available that have all of the tools are more expensive, thus this set is a fair value for the price. I would recommend this kit if you are needing these specific tools, but for anyone looking to buy their first matcha making set this may not be the best one since it lacks a proper sized tea bowl and the ceramic cha-sen drying stand. Although these two items can be substituted for items in your kitchen, it's nice to have a full set when starting out.

This set had a tacky, chemical feeling to it-- at least the wooden pieces did. I will not be using this.
