This unit was actually a little too big for the project I had planned to use it on. But what I received was strong yet easy to pull set up. Would be great for and outdoor fence project.

I got a pair of these to replace two very corroded units on a pair of boat house doors. The bolt is reversible so it can be used to latch in either direction. For my application, I used the flat strike plate and turned the bolt around. I am very happy with the purchase and expect these to outlast the doors they are on.

Bought 6 of these over a year ago and installed on top of 14’ high swing doors. Doors get opened and closed many times a day and these latches have worked very well and have been bullet proof so far. Had to buy longer chains.

Wasn't sure what to expect, quality wise, until I actually received this. Was really better made than expected. Installed this some time back and still hadn't lost anything as far as the "performance" of it... (Spring still strong, hasn't weakened..etc). Well made. Highly recommended

Will this work, Probably. Is it what is in the picture...no. I ordred this because of how it was pictured. It's very unclear the different styles of these and numbering. National has an older number that has been discontinued, but still available on Amazon, and other brands or manufacturers have variling housing styles too..from rounded to squared off. For what it's worth, this number for what I received does match what is on National's website. I agree with others, the spring is quite stiff and really only intended to be a manual spring loaded bolt, I dont see it working well as a latch, despite the angled end.

This bolt has worked exactly I thought it would. I set it up in a hard to reach area of the barn and now don't have to use a ladder ever time I want to open the door.
