We have used other locks of this type in the past and this one seems every bit as secure but at a more reasonable price. They are solidly built, operate smoothly and hold the door securely closed. Be sure to test fit the placement before drilling to ensure that your door gap will accommodate the plates. Otherwise, instillation is simple and straightforward. Very pleased with this find.

Works great! It’s easy installation with a drill. Got it to prevent my littles ones from opening the door and it really works. My little ones cannot open the door if the lock is on. If it’s not locked all the way the door can still be opened. It adds so much more security and I feel better knowing my kids can’t just run out the front door. Great quality lock and look subtle and great!

This lock was easy to install, it took my friend about 10 minutes, using a drill. The lock is VERY secure as it can't be reached from the outside. I gave it a 4-star rating because it is a little tricky to figure out how to open it. In the instructions, there's a good diagram about how to open it, and once you figure it out, it's easy. Nevertheless, it is a little difficult to figure out at first. I would recommend this lock, but, with a little practice opening and closing it.

My house is an old build with the original front door and door frame. A couple of years ago, I got a weather strip attached around the door frame facing the back side of the door. It is great for keeping wind, cold, and heat out, but created a problem with closing the door. The door sticks out a bit and it was very difficult to push or pull the door firmly into the latch opening. A strong wind could actually blow it open sometimes. I did some research to see what I could do to secure the door.I found this door reinforcement lock and ordered it. I wasn't sure if it would work, because of how the door was situated now. Because the door sticks out a little bit beyond the edge of the frame I had to install the lock very close to the edge of the door frame, as you can see on the picture, but it works. The package includes long and shorter screws. I had to use the shorter screws, because it's a brick house and the screws don't grip to the brick, but the short ones are perfect. I have never felt so safe than with this lock. I thought I had to get a new door and/or door frame and it would cost me a lot of money, but instead I found this perfect and inexpensive solution. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this product.

This product was received as part of a promotion. I got this door reinforcement for a door in our home that’s not-so-secure. We have a bad landlord who won’t fix anything & we didn’t want to go buy another door before we moved soon (we’ve been house hunting). So this is the perfect solution for extra security without having to go purchase an extra door. It’s real simple to install & says it’s supposed to withstand 800 pounds. It comes with 8 screws. For extra security, we added longer screws to the door security lock. We’re glad we found this cost-effective product before we moved out!
