How does one honestly know whether something like this actually works? Well, easy. In the instructions, it explains that you can ignite a flame from burning fuels and this will sound the alarm. It gives a digital readout of detected levels of combustable gases and I believe is a great investment in your family's safety. I actually ordered this because I think I can smell natural gas being emitted from my range, at times. Since I plugged this in, It has not signaled an issue. I have poor lighting behind my oven so I took a match and struck it while behind the problematic appliance. Once I initiated the flame, I, for only a moment, eliminated the lighting problems and this detector, while it was still functioning, beeped. At least that is what the fire department claimed in their report.I advise that you test this away from a fuel source other than the one which may cause you the same issues I had while alive. I think that if I had such prophetic advice like what you are receiving, I would still be wondering what the hell was creating that odor in the first place. Instead, I am sending this message from the hereafter in attempts to keep you and your loved ones safe. LOLThis detector is well suited for its purpose and I have great confidence in recommending it to you, especially if you are a landlord or suspect issues as I did. It does react well when PROPERLY tested. LOLI hope I made you smile.I am happy with my order and I hope this was helpful. ✔️ Thanks!

This is exactly as described. It arrived on the expected date. Shipping was really quick. I’ve been wanting something like this for years and I saw this online and thought I would take a chance and purchase it.It appears to be a really nice device and it works. I plugged it in and I’m going to mount it to the wall because right now I just have it in a testing area but plugged in near my natural gas water heater in my garage. The product arrived it is brand new not used or anything like that and there is an instruction manual. The instruction manual is very uneasy to understand. As soon as I plugged it in the Voice said it was going into testing. The lights are green and it looks good. Because I don’t know that much about these kind of machines I am going to have someone with more technical experience look at it and advise me on the precise location to hang it and plug it in. That’s why I have it in a testing location right now.So far so good and I can recommend this device because it works as far as power goes I have not experienced any kind of gas leak and hopefully I never do but just the security of having this in the house makes me feel so much better. I like the fact that it is a plug-in device And it also has a battery back up. I had looked at a previous device somewhere online and it was a Wi-Fi device and although that was appealing if the Internet ever went down which it does frequently then I would not have the security that I have right now with this standalone device that just plugs in and does not rely on the Internet. That’s another reason I decided I wanted this device. I’m posting photos to show the extra battery compartment as well as a piece that goes on the back to mount it to the wall. It also came with the needed wall anchors and screws so no need to go to the store and purchase anything this is just ready to use right out of the box. All you need is an electrical outlet.

This is a vine review meaning the product was provided to be reviewed. This product is a 120 V gas detector with an auditable alarm. A plastic mounting bracket and two flathead Phillips screws with two plastic drywall anchors are included, as is an instruction page. The product is packaged in an illustrated white card stock box suitable for gifting if wrapped. The documentation included with this product states it can detect propane, methane, and natural gas. The product has a white polymer case with digital readout, three indicator lights, test button, and a vented opening for the sensor. The product has a 3 foot white cord coming out of the top of the case with a standard 120 V household plug. The product has provision for 9 V battery back up. No battery is included. The product was easy to mount using the included mounting bracket and flat head screws. I mounted it on the wall across from my furnace and hot water heater, both of which use Natural Gas. Because Natural Gas is lighter than air, I mounted the device 4 feet from the floor yet within one meter of the appliances. See attached detail photograph of product mounted on wall. When plugged in, the product counts down 180 seconds while the sensor warms up. Pressing the test button yielded a vocal response the product was operating correctly.I am glad I have this product to alert me to natural gas leaks from my furnace and hot water heater. However, this product has no markings that it is certified by either Underwriter’s Laboratories or Intertek. Since this is a safety product, certification is necessary. I deducted one star because this product has no certification. In summary, this product is easy to install and appears to work but if I were ordering another gas detector I would make sure it was certified.
