It doesn't work, small ants are still somehow reaching the food. I made sure there was nothing that could make them bypass to reach the top. The dirst day I put the plate out normally, ants, I then filled the inside with tons of dish soap bit I still saw ants.

our cat is a sloppy eater who always leaves bits of food lying on the floorwe tried using a container with a little water in it under her dish to stop ants getting into her food but it just made things worse the food would fall it the water and start to rot so we were changing the water every dayafter using this tray for just a few weeks there are no more ants even if some bits do fall on the floor now they just sit there untouched

It works perfectly as stated. In Hawaii we have three size ants and not one has made it through to contaminate my cat's food. She is much happier now. Some of the ants here are so small you can't see them unless you look very closely. I really had no idea why she had stopped eating but now she has actually gained weight! Great invention!

Skeptical but desperate as the ants were making feeding the cats very difficult I purchased two of these bowls. I thought the price was a bit steep at over $50 dollars though. I may buy the cheaper older model for the dog bowls and put my own non slip sheet on it. I read the reviews before placing the order and it seemed Australian purchasers like me said it worked, but lots of American reviewers said it didn't! American ants must be smarter maybe - dunno?When I got the bowls, even though they were going inside the house I still put the 'outside' larger ant collar provided on the bowls. I filled one with water and left the other as it was. Neither bowls failed and so I suppose I will not be filling the bases with water anymore. We have been ant free on any bowl above these platforms, but if a bit of food falls on the floor the ants come in their hundreds. Very successful and I do recommend this product.

Seems a bit silly but this thing worked for me. We had ants getting in the cat food bowl and were tired of the horrible smell and mess from having a water moat around the food. This thing is magic. Haven’t seen an ant in the bowl since we got it. Recommend pairing it with a cat food tray with a lip to reduce stray food from being knocked out of the bowl.

I thought it would be bigger based on the reference photos. It's too tiny, I intended to place them under the smart feeders but it had to balance them in it. Check measurements before buying.

We are feeding an outdoor cat that a former neighboor left behind. I am not a crazy cat lady but am pretty peeved they didn't take this cutie with them. Unfortunately my over 12 year old cat is still a bit territorial so our outside cat is not an inside cat yet. all that being said, ANTS have been a large headache for her food dish. Was looking around for a solution and saw this. so far so good. Might come back and add to this review at some time. By the way, took a solid MONTH for them to send to me. Hopefully your purchase won't take as long.
