I purchased this because my office desk faces a building with an ugly glass facade, that for approximately two hours during the workday reflects sunlight right into my face, making work at my computer screen really difficult. This works perfectly to solve this issue. The item is well made and allows me to position the shade just where I want it to block the reflected light as the angle of the sun changes. For me, I appreciate that I can remove the shade once the two hour window of reflected sunlight passes. I leave the post clamped to my desk and just remove the shade and put it aside.One warning though. This thing is huge! Honestly, it is a bit of an eyesore, and not something I would want to have up all day long, but for that two hour window, it is a godsend and perfect for my needs.

This is a nice shade with a clever design, as you can adjust it in several ways for optimal blocking direction. It's very lightweight physically and construction wise. It will do the job only in stable (indoors), non-breezy (outdoor) conditions. It is not designed to withstand wobbling or pressure from something leaning against it. The shade doesn't attach super securely to the stand, just enough to hold it up. I use it on my open deck to shade where ever I happen to sit on a sunny day, as long as it isn't windy outside. The clamp tightens well and may be able to attach to the arm of a lawn chair if the arm has a flat upper and lower surface. I like how the shade portion can slip on or off of the vertical stand section so you can take down the shade and don't have to remove the stand if you plan on using it again at the same place. The construction directions are a bit vague, have poor quality photos, and leave out critical angles of view, I had to watch the video of the product online to figure it out the first time.

okay.. this thing was sooo cheap given how much it was being sold for. All it is is a VERY thin piece of sun-visor material, you know? the ones for car windshields? and the little poles are so little, thin and brittle that I can't see it being durable. I had put it outside to help shield my plants from the sun, and any LITTLE breeze (I can't emphasize LITTLE enough) that came through made it twist and flap so violently, you'd think there was a tsunami going on.Of course, I am aware that this is for indoor use where there isn't any wind, which I guess if your job doesn't allow blinds on the windows then this might work for you, but the quality, functionality, durability are all lacking. Even once assembled inside and connected to a table to test it out, it was sagging as if the shade part was too heavy for the poles. The shade part also could not be positioned in any way to shade from the sun. It only has one position and thats horizontal.... so not sure what use that one position is good for when providing shade, as it doesn't even extend that high up from the table it's connected on.Needless to say, once I had put it outside, it tore within 30mins and this eventually fell apart by next day.This isn't worth however much they are charging for it. Even if it is used inside...I do not recommend.

GREAT product!! Easy to put together and does the job at work with those overhead fluorescent lights that are obnoxious!! However, ridiculous leadership has decided this goes against policy and I am forced to take it down. Cheers to more headaches and eye strain!!

I am actually obsessed with the concept of this device. And I am using it everyday. It has made sitting at my computer (I work from home) so much more pleasant without the recessed lighting shining down and causing glares. That being said, it doesn't quite secure as well as I wish it would to my style of desk. I just with the clamp was a bit deeper because my desk came from Amazon and hase a metal friend that sticks out about 1/2 and inch from the wood desktop. And it doesn't secure very well. I tried to show my kids the difference between using my "umbrella" and not using my embrella and the clamp fell right off of the desk. It didn't break, but I question it's durability. And I am already trying to figure out how I will replace it when it finally does break. But this concept is a total game changer and I highly recommend for anyone who has light sensitivity, is migraine prone or get eye strain. It truly feels like a Life Hack I didn't know I needed and am so grateful for. It also makes me look nicer on video calls because there are no shadow anymore from the overhead lights. Lots of plusses.
