The Passive infrared sensor are popular used in the automatic swing door systems. can induce the movement of human body only. while, the other types of sensor can induce all the moving objects. As long as the object moves, the sensor will react; therefore, the automatic door operator will be triggered to operate. All the other moving objects installed in the door body shall avoid the detection scope.

Despite being an Infrared Sensor it gets triggered by the closing door if placed on one side. As the door closes and passes under the sensor, it gets triggered, and the door opens again. The sensor didn't come with any mounting hardware either. It has a very wide detection range and adjustments so the door is constantly triggered. Had to design and 3D print a "hood" for it.Connecting to the door controller was easy.UPDATE: Despite 3D printed hood it still gets triggered randomly even when nobody is around...
