This did the job. It's just 3d-printed plastic. the screws it comes with are garbage, so use your own. it does the job but is way more expensive than it should be.

In most laptop BIOSs there is a setting to power on when power is applied. A closed laptop has no power button.

At first I was worried that my knee might bump into the laptop or the corner of the mount.but with good planning this is completely out of visual sight, and doesn't come anywhere near my knee when I'm sitting at my desk.I would recommend marking the holes with a pencil and drilling small pilot holes so the screws don't crack the wood in the desktop; plus it made it a lot easier to get the screws all the way in with a screwdriver.These are definitely stronger and studier than I hoped. You can really give a big tug on these, and they won't budge, so supporting a lightweight electronic like a laptop or tablet or router is no problem at all.Biggest value is having a clean desk without the clutter of the laptop and wires, they are all underneath and out of the way.

As intended this is used to mount a computer under the table top. I was concerned I would bump my legs on them. Not so far. I enjoy having an uncluttered desktop. Would I buy again absolutely. It was a tiny bit interesting getting this mounted working upside down. Don't get in a a hurry and you'll be fine. I pulled in an 11 year old for assistance. Best choice I made. Together we made short work of the process.
