As a professional groomer, I see a lot of matted dogs. This has been awesome so far! Just need to use caution, as with any demating tool. I've noticed mats around the neck are dangerous to use it on as the skin tries to go in it if not held tight enough. Flat areas that aren't too bad are the easiest to use it on, ears and tail worked nice too! This isn't a magical wand that can or should get through tight, bad matting but is amazing on small areas that can be worked through.
