This works great, but I don’t feel safe using it. It was very easy to set up and use, but the flame strength is very strong and I’m scared. I’m gonna catch something on fire! I would rather use a weed killer or a normal rake, would not recommend. 2⭐️⭐️

Used this torch on a runner crush stone driveway that was invaded by weeds/moss/grass.Mounted a 20gal propane tank on a hand cart with bungee cords, which made it EZ to move around with the torch. The 10' long hose is an adequate length, and torch quality is good. Igniter works well.Used the torch for about 20 minutes and the job was "fun" vs. pulling weeds. Worked great. And nice to avoid applying chemicals.Think the torch was more effective when raised up a bit vs. getting it right down close to the weeds.Note: Heat from this torch covers an area too wide to target individual weeds in the yard -unless OK with "collateral damage" of your surrounding grass!Note: Torch comes with no directions for assembly/operation, and no documentation regarding the 3yr warranty described on the product page. This is a dangerous product can cause injury or damage -very surprised that Kavakara provides no instructions to ensure properly assembled, and no safety-related cautions to prevent injury to the user or to prevent causing damage/fires.Lack of the above documentation dropped my rating to 4 stars: that oversight is unacceptable in my opinion.Torch itself works fine.

I have 40 acres out in the middle of nowhere, Arizona. I have 1400 feet of gravel driveway and keeping the weeds from taking over the driveways is a constant battle. I got this torch to help control those weeds. The torch is well made. It is designed to be used with 1" propane cylinders but comes with an adapter hose that allows you to use it with 20# tanks. The torch lights easily. The flame burns continuously at a low level and ramps up to a high setting, which is adjustable, when the trigger is depressed. The torch smokes weeds very quickly. My only question is "Does this technique kill the roots". If the roots are not killed than they will grow right back.I use Flame King 1# propane refillable cylinders and they sell the equipment to safely refill them. Trying to refill the standard green propane tanks is a really bad idea.

I live in a retirement subdivision where, like most of the homes here, I don’t have grass, our yards are rock so we don’t have to mow and weed eat/edge the yard. However, weeds have begun sprouting up in the rocks and we have to spray the yard with weed killer. We are in the country where we have a lot of wildlife so I got this torch hoping it will be effective and we won’t need to poison our yard. After using, I think this torch is more effective because it heats the rocks causing the heat to get deeper and maintain a continuous heat until the rocks cool. The roots in the rocks are shallow because of the weed block paper under the rocks and I believe the seeds are destroyed as well. This torch is easily assembled, propane is readily found in local stores and the ignition button works like a charm! I will use this also in the winter to de-ice our long sidewalk to the driveway and the driveway as well. I can’t believe I haven’t thought of this before! One caution is that the heat is extremely intense so if you’re using it where you have plants or shrubs be sure to keep a safe distance so you don’t kill them as well. I would advise not using it to weed a flowerbed unless you have no plants in it yet.

This is not just a weed torch—it’s a handheld inferno. At 1.8 million BTUs, this propane flamethrower doesn’t just kill weeds; it vaporizes their will to live. You click the ignition and feel like you're summoning the wrath of an ancient fire god, which is great until you remember you’re just trying to tidy up the driveway. The torch’s 34-inch length is a gift to your lower back, sparing you the yoga poses usually required for ground-level combat. The 10-foot hose grants you decent roaming range—basically the fire-breathing leash of your suburban dreams. And yes, it comes with enough safety features to make you feel just barely irresponsible while using it.Attaching the propane is simple: the reverse-thread handwheel means no tools, just a brain and opposable thumbs. The self-igniting feature works like a charm—just don’t try it indoors unless you’re actively downsizing your home.Build quality? Sturdy. It’s alloy steel, which in this context translates to “good luck breaking it before your warranty expires.” The modular design is allegedly for easy storage, but let’s be honest—you’re never putting this thing away. You’re going to display it in your garage like a medieval lance. Is it overkill for a dandelion problem? Absolutely. Do you care? Absolutely not. Fire is fun. Just try not to torch your lawn into a smoky tribute to poor decision-making.

Got this to do hardworking aid we are looking forward to using it on icy new England driveway too but it was good for clearing a patch of yard that was overrun! Love that it comes with accessories just wish it'd come with a case for storage adding a small fuel source to start with.

Love this thing, I feel like some sort of superhero in the yard slaying weeds! This torch works very well, construction is solid, and the trigger/handle feature is great for keeping the propane at a lower level until you really need to get after it. The biggest plus on the torch for me is the ability to use the 1lb bottles. My neighbor has a similar torch, but it must be hooked up to the large 5lb tank, which is cumbersome to move around a large yard/property. I use refillable 1lb bottles, so when they run out I can just refill from the larger tank, making it much more cost effective. Neighbor saw this torch, immediately asked where I got it, and got himself one. One of my favorite yard tools now. No more constant bending to pick weeds, and who doesn't love a blow torch?!
