It's pricey but if you want to stop any hitch play this will solve it

Oh the savior to the annoying rattling and clanking sound coming from your hitch while accelerating or breaking. This has been in use for hauling my Runaway camper and has saved countless hours of having to turn the radio up. It should be noted that I use it in conjunction with a curt rocker ball which had solved part of the problem but not all on its own. The combination has been the answer to the problem and even results in a smoother ride (before this purchase I had used a different hitch ball mount tightener that did not fit on my newer vehicle. The insert fits properly and stays in place. When properly tightened it holds the ball mount snugly in the receiver eliminating the slack that results in excessive noise. Highly recommended.

This anti rattle locking drawbar pin replacement is awesome. The nut is retained inside your hollow shank ball mount. Screw the pin in hand tight and slide the lock in place. Lastly, tighten the pin. No rattles and it makes the ball mount harder to steal. The traditional hitch pin and spring clip are much cheaper, quicker to install or remove and might be the proper choice in some towing situations. If security and eliminating annoying rattles are important to you, use this locking pin.

Lateral movement is well dampened. The mount can still move up and down a little even after proper torque on the bolt. That will probably make a little noise but not too bad. FYI the instructions list the correct SAE size of 7/8" for the bolt but for metric you need 23mm, not 21mm as stated twice in the instructions.

A really good product, but I lost the padlock and repeated emails to the company to try to buy a new one have yielded zero replies.

I was gifted a bike carrier that goes on the hitch and has a nut built in so a regular hitch pin didn't fit. Ordered this one and it's the exact right thread and works fantastic. Tightens the carrier so it doesn't make any noise when hitting rough roads, and it locks easy. Not sure how sturdy the lock is but honestly, who tries to steal a locked bike carrier at a camp site or a hiking trail parking lot?I felt it was a tad expensive for what it is but like I said, it works really well, so I'm a happy camper.

This is a product that could be very useful if a little more attention was paid to the breakable parts. The first time i used the product, the plastic nut holder broke. It was made in China so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. My guesstimate of the cost of this part is under $1.00. I notified Softride of this. They requested a picture of the broken plastic part so they couid analyze it and tell me what was wrong with it. It appeared to me to be a broken piece of plastic. I am not tech savvy enough to E-mail pictures so I explained in written words where the breaks were. Other reviews on Amazon mention this same problem so I surmise it is not a new issue, but either a faulty design or manufacturing defect. After several days of not hearing back from them, I simply told them I had no choice but to return the product to Amazon. A few days later, they told me to send the broken part back to them and they would examine it, presumably to tell me it was broken, or I could buy the part on their Website (for $8.99]. Bulletin - E.Trailer.Com sells it for $4.49!So, if you reallty love this part, and are sure you will not need customer service, buy it, If not, beware.I may be spoiled because I am used to dealing with companies that stand behind their products, and there are lots of them, but this is not one of them
