I love that this doorbell does not require a subscription. Very easy to hardwire and sleek looking. You can put a memory card in it for storage and you can clear the recordings via the app to clear up storage space. In the 7 months I’ve had this, I’ve only needed to clear up storage space one time. There are so many great things I could say about this doorbell camera. I’m very happy to have this one as compared to other ones on the market that require a subscription.

Outstanding doorbell!I’ve had a wired Nest doorbell for several years, along with the Nest Aware subscription required. It worked very well when installed, but became somewhat unreliable in its detecting capabilities as time wore on. Nest Aware subscription prices also increased.Saw many great reviews on the Reolink doorbell, and purchased it through Amazon. As our front entryway is a double-door, kind of “tunneled” entrance, I bought the white doorbell, which has a different field of view, as opposed to the black one.During the install, I used the supplied wedge to direct the view toward the center of our entryway. The person, package, and motion alerts, as well as the button press alerts, are working flawlessly. And no monthly subscription fees, either. I purchased and installed a 256gb micro SD card for storage, and it appears that this card will store at least a month or two’s worth of video clips. The alerts are almost instantaneous on my iPhone 14 PM. They also come through on my Google Nest Hub in the kitchen. The image resolution is great, as well as the audio quality.I’m very pleased with this Reolink doorbell, and as an added bonus, I was able to cancel my Nest Aware subscription, saving me about $180.00 a year, so the new doorbell pays for itself in the first year.Highly recommended.

I tried Blink for a while & was pretty good but if the batteries die no more ding doing! That was stupid. I saw the Eufy that has 2 cameras & keeps the rechargeable battery topped off if you use your wires from existing doorbell & has on board storage but the sound was horrible & live view I could d not hear anything.I decided to look at Reolink & found they have 2 types of door bell cameras one that does a vertical view for like a hallway or portrait and another that does like a landscape view. I got the white one for the portrait or hallway view & can see about all of the front porch in the lower right corner you can see the threshold of the door. The sound is awesome, video and the whole interface is awesome! You can add an SD card for local storage or like others as well you can add a home base for storage & viewing. This comes with lots of extras you may not need so they should d have a few different packages for you needs to lower price but they may think one package one price and it is not that expensive under 100 you get a power supply if you do not existing wires & an ethernet cable that is like 3' so do not know where go with that, but. You can do poe or use existing wires to power it & connect Wi-Fi. You get a sturdy metal bracket not plastic like others. You get the 15 degree mount to angle towards your door if you want which I did then gives more room for wires. Others were cramped in this area. It snaps on & off easily.

The Reolink 2K Doorbell Camera is a solid choice for those looking for a feature-rich doorbell camera without recurring subscription fees. While my experience has been mostly positive, there are a few issues worth noting.Initial Setup and SD Card IssuesWhen I first installed the camera, I encountered some issues with the SD card. The card stopped functioning randomly, requiring me to remove and reinsert it before it could be formatted and work properly again. While this could be an SD card issue, it’s something to keep in mind. Since resetting the SD card, it has been functioning without further problems.Video Quality and Day/Night ModeThe footage quality is decent, capturing clear 2K video, but I’ve noticed occasional glitches with the auto day/night mode. On rare occasions, the camera remains in night mode all day and doesn’t automatically switch back to daytime mode. While this isn’t a frequent issue, it can be a bit inconvenient when it does happen.App and NotificationsOne of the standout features of this camera is the Reolink app, which works flawlessly. Notifications are fast and reliable, ensuring I don’t miss any important activity at my door. The app’s usability is excellent, with intuitive controls and easy access to live footage or recordings. No Subscription Fees – A Huge PlusOne of the biggest advantages of the Reolink 2K Doorbell Camera is that features like person, pet, and vehicle detection are included at no extra cost. Unlike competitors that lock these "smart" features behind subscription fees, Reolink offers them for free, making this camera a budget-friendly yet highly functional option. I hope Reolink continues to keep these features free, as it’s a significant selling point.Final ThoughtsDespite minor quirks like the SD card issue and occasional glitches with day/night mode, the Reolink 2K Doorbell Camera delivers great value for the price. It offers solid performance, a reliable app, and impressive smart detection features without the burden of monthly fees. If you’re looking for an affordable doorbell camera with robust features, I recommend giving this one a try.

I almost considered giving this 3 stars just because of the setup process. This isn't my first ReoLink camera...but, luckily it is only my 3rd Wireless one. All the other ones are PoE which is by far the way to go. Those are literally almost plug and play. The problem with the WiFi versions (like the E1) is that they have this incredibly annoying voice prompt that would be soooo much more pleasurable if ReoLink would just make sure it was on low volume. You are right next to the camera in order to set it up so it isn't difficult to hear. But...when your installation doesn't go well you get this loop of a really load voice prompt that my neighbor actually came out of their house to see what was happening. And worse...it got to play for about an hour straight as I tried to work through the connection process.Basically the ReoLink app creates a scannable code that you are suppose to put up to your camera lens and the camera then scans it and connects to your WiFi. Not a smooth process because the cameras seem to have a hard time picking up the code. My two indoor E1 cameras took a little bit of finagling, but eventually they took the code and connected. this camera however did NOT pick up the code from my phone no matter the position, lighting...anything. After wasting some 10 minutes on that I got the idea of taking a snapshot of the code, sending it to my computer, cropping just the code and printing it out on a nice white piece of paper (after doing that I should've tried just placing a blank piece of paper behind my phone to see if that helped). Anyway that worked great. Problem solved...NOPE!So the camera scans the code and says connecting...but, then fails to connect to my WiFi. I tried 2.4GHz, then 5GHz (this model can do 5GHz). And then back and forth and back and forth. We are coming up on an hour of this voice prompt blaring away with me just about ready to rip this thing off the wall and smash it. IF it would just be at a low volume it wouldn't be a big deal (really, really hope ReoLink reads this since it is such an easy firmware fix to get the voice prompt to play back at a low volume). I finally grabbed my WiFi router, found a LAN extension and brought it literally right next to the camera. I was like...yes, it is going to work since my WiFi router is right next to it. NOPE!I'm about to give up on this and I realized I had just now ran a LAN cable all the way out to my front door. So, I brought my WiFi router back to it's normal place and instead plugged the extension into the router and the other end into the doorbell camera. Well of course THAT worked. It's hard line connected now. Pulled up the app and after seeing it already in the list with a 'needs initialization' sort of thing on it I clicked only to see it now asking me if I want to connect to the WiFi (instead of using the LAN). I continued and it connected to the WiFi without any problems at all. What the hell ReoLink??So if you get this camera, do yourself a HUGE favor and run a LAN cable out to it to do it's initial setup via the LAN. Don't even waste time with the whole scanning the code unless you really want to waste an hour or so with an annoying voice prompt letting your whole neighborhood know you don't seem capable with setting up a simple doorbell camera when in reality it's ReoLink's bad setup routine...Once you get past all that, it's a great camera. ReoLink's biggest value is in it's ability to do RTSP, ONVIF, FTP recording and Web Interface. There is also a direct integration in Home Assistant or the ability to stream to Frigate (or other free NVRs via the RTSP protocol). This is ReoLink's biggest advantage and biggest value (because you don't pay for cloud services...well, unless you want them lol).Oh one other thing. I noticed there was a black doorbell and white doorbell version. At first it just looks like the white is an older version and the black a newer one. I don't know if the details show this (maybe they do, but since it isn't in comparison I just didn't note it as a difference), but the key difference is that the white one uses a tall camera view and the black a wide camera view. Technically the 'viewing area' is identical just one rotated 90 degrees. I probably would've preferred the wide camera view since it covers quite a bit of height...but, the white is the ONLY one the wife would allow on the side of the house. Unfortunate that you can't get either view in either color...Whoops...yet one more thing I need to mention. In my pictures you can see it mounts up great on the side of my house with obvious contours that the mount this comes with wouldn't fit on no matter what. The additional white plastic that is custom fit to the side of the house is 3D printed (created by me). If you don't have a 3D printer or have one but don't have CAD skills, ignore that part since you will not be able to replicate it. In that case either hope you have a flat area or are willing to do something else to make it look professional.

This camera system works great with Home Assistant. I don't have the chime setup but I use my Google home devices setup to chime through Home Assistant. It does have a few second delay but very tolerable. Basically any option or sensor is passed through to HA, therefore automations are very easy to setup with the sensors as triggers.Great buy, would recommend if someone needs a device for HA.

I had been using a Ring for over 4 years, just to this one. It's half the price and no monthly fee. Better, crisp 2K picture, installs in a breeze. Minute controls over picture quality and detection. Package detection is excellent. Looks fantastic in white too. Need I say more ?
