I bought this in early December, and less than 3.5 months and the lamp is dead. The bulb is good, but the lamp no longer turns on. It's not from overheating, as it just failed to turn on this morning from a cold start. Now I have to fall back to my lower wattage lamp until I buy a new one from a reputable company.

Has lasted over a year. Is hot to the touch so be mindful to hang it properly. Does not seem to burn through any faster than my other sets have.

I have a really hard time absorbing vitamin d,, it's a genetic thing for me. After my local pharmacy screwed up a prescription I decided I needed another source of sunshine, and got this. A few minutes under this every couple of days, and my levels are right in the range I want them to be. Couldn't be happier!

Honestly, for the price and description for some reason I thought this was 2 hoods. But it's only one. I read reviews like this all the time and think "you're an idiot" but for real, for the price and the pic and the 2 in the description, I don't know. Anyway, I kept the single hood because it's beefy as heck and it's more attractive for indoor use than the standard reptile light hood (I'm using it for a grow light for my indoor plants). I also like the hanger vs the clip. But for twice the price of a standard, slightly less attractive, slightly less beefy hood... meh, 4 stars.
