I have had these on the shelf for about five months since I received them. After noticing my last 60 grit Gator Grit disk wasn't performing very well, I decided to open up this brand new package and put a 40 grit on my sander. I was surprised to see the brand new 40 grit from this package was not performing as well as the worn-out 60 grit I had replaced it with. Hoping I had a one-off problem, I got another 40 grit out of the box and put it on the sander. It performed just as poorly as the first. Thinking I wasn't using a head-to-head comparison with the 60 grit I'd had before, I pulled a 60 grit out of the box and put it on the sander. I believe it did do slightly better than the the two 40 grit pads, but nowhere near as good as the worn-out 60 grit I had taken off originally. This package costs about 72% less than Gator Grit. Had it been free, it still would have been a rip-off. These aren't worth the time it takes to put them on the sander. Just goes to show you when you get something new make sure you check it out before the return window closes. What a waste! Waste

So far the sandpapers look pretty good and function well, but be aware that the backer pad is not a universal fit. For example, the pre-drilled mounting holes were too small for my Ryobi random orbital sander so I had to drill them out to a larger diameter. Then I discovered that the pad sat too low in the sander and rubbed on the sander body, so I had to add some washers as spacers. It still rubs a little bit, but I don't have a lot of screw length to work with, so I think I'll just see how this goes... I think it will probably work with these modifications, so I'm not too disappointed at this point.
