Used it one time and it stopped working, tried to use the warranty and get the message “ due to a high volume of requests for store credit refunds, we are experiencing delays in processing”. This has been going on for two months now and I still do not have my credit. Avoid this garbage at all costs. Customer service is bad, product is bad, there is no redeeming qualities for this company. They even tried to close my ticket before I received my refund. Seems like they are trying to delay and get people to forget so they can keep the money while you have a garbage product in your garage.

We had 14” of snow a couple days before the Snow Joe arrived. It took me 4 hours to shovel my driveway and sidewalks! I couldn’t wait for this machine to arrive! Now, after four snow storms, I clear my driveway and sidewalks under 30 minutes! This is a battery powered single stage snow blower, not a big two-stage monster. It throws snow 8’-10’, which is great for a battery powered machine of this size. At just 35 lbs I can lift it up the steps and clear the pad in front of my front door. That saves me shoveling time.At 77 years old, any machine that saves me labor is super. The Snow Joe is light enough that I can load it in the back of my car and go clear the walks of friends with disabilities, another big plus for this machine. I opted for the larger capacity batteries, and glad I did. I’ve put this machine to the test and I’m glad I bought it.

I was initially going to give this a 1 star review, but after another attempt, (3 in total) to use the snow blower, I became a little more generous. No matter what, the engineering team needs to hire some folks familiar with snow instead of grass!Right off- this is not a Snow Blower in the true sense of the word. It is more of a powerful snow shovel! If you live where you get a fair amount of heavy snow, (the kind you build snow men out of), this might not be for you. Living in northern Illinois, with the 5A batteries, you may be able to handle up to 3" of wet snow for 30 minutes, including chunking away at the front of the driveway where that darn cursed plow deposited snow boulders over night. Battery drainage is directly related to heaviness of snow and depth. Similarly, being a 1 stage discharge instead of 2 stage, the wetter the snow, the more it will pack in the chute. The paddle and design just don't have the power to thrust heavy snow out very far and more or less just push the packed snow forward, in front of the paddles. If on the other hand you live where you get nice fluffy powder most of the time, this snow blower should work fine. In both cases, I recommend buying the bigger battery, (5Ah). In the case of 3" of powder, this machine churned it up and threw the results a long ways. The larger battery still only gave me about 30 minutes of medium work before it literally refused to pick up and move any more snow without stopping.I like the directional crank for the chute, but the chute itself is poorly designed. If you try to adjust it down for a close throw distance, it has a gap at the back end that will actually push snow out onto the blower itself, rather than up and out. Minor flaw but maybe once again, showing why SnowJoe should stick to summertime products and leave winter to those with more experience moving different weights and height.Oh well- I will keep it and for less heavy usage rather than my gas powered Toro and as a lightweight spare. It definitely is quieter, lighter to maneuver and easier to start than a gas powered pull coil. Just don't expect the same results.

This year in Northwest Ohio (so far) we've had a snowfall of the type and quantities this device is designed to tackle. We had snow ranging from heavy, wet, 6" to light powder 10". This machine powered through it all! I was VERY impressed! I did not expect this type of performance from a rechargeable device.Suggestion:First, READ the very well-written owner's manual, especially in regards to proper battery charging and storage. This is a very well-written owner's manual. Take the time to go over it. It will educate you on all you ever wanted to know about this particular machine, and then some basic "principles of L- ion Battery Tech" - if you want. It's all there, the manual is that good.Review:To be honest, I was quite concerned that such a lightweight (and I mean light in terms of actual weight, not in regards to the quality of construction), and rechargeable, would be capable of meeting my snow-blowing needs. In my case, I elected to purchase the "higher capacity battery upgrade option/package". Probably, in retrospect, the standard capacity would have been more than adequate. But heck "when in doubt, make it stout! " So, this year in Northwest Ohio we had a snowfall of the type and quantities this device is designed to tackle. AS noted by others, this blower is not for heavy snow, but it handled 4-5 inches with no problem. It does not clear as close to the pavement as other machines might, but I am okay with that. My objective is to clear the driveway enough that I can get out and clear the sidewalk enough that the mail carrier can get through. It is quiet (compared to my neighbors' gas machines), lightweight (I carried it up and down the basement steps myself), and the batteries were sufficient that I cleared a pretty long double driveway and a 1/2 block sidewalk without having to recharge. One thing to note: the second time we tried it, it would not start. My neighbor gave us the pointer that sometimes the batteries can be a bit temperamental and and you have to take them out and reinsert them. This works every time.
