These items are tricky! Most of the time these will only work for a VERY short time but so far this one is consistent! I love it and it really helps me keep the water levels where they are needed on my MANY house plants! Thank you!

The choice was mostly arbitrary, there are so many. It was a 3-in-1 with a swivel head and a single probe so it checked the boxes. It was good for about six weeks, the swivel head was handy, but then something inside shorted out and the swivel head began to shut down the meter when tilted. Within a few uses, it quit.The 3 stars represent an appreciation of the product. Its features proved useful. The swivel head helped readability when the probe was half-lost in the greenery. The single probe was less apt to bring up clumps of soil and was less a disturbance to the roots. No telling how accurate the pH and "Fertility" gauges were, but the relative numbers offered some convenient comparisons. The missing 2 stars were deducted because it stopped reading any of the three scales.
