Juice groove router bit did an excellent job. 3/8" bit down 3/8" left a great groove. Not the bit’s fault, I was cutting into white oak, I had quite a bit of burn marks to clean up.

This is a good bit to make the groove in cutting boards, like almost all cutting tools, it's very stressful to go just plowing down the middle of a board full diameter, so I used a 1/4" router bit to rough out the groove first, and I also made my groove 7/8" wide, this allowed me to run this profile bit on the outside edge and then the inside edge in separate passes, and since most of the material was gone, it was doing very little material removal and I got nearly no chatter and got a really nice smooth finish. I really doubt it would be so nice just trying to take one single pass and try to make the groove, remove all the material and profile it all in one massive cut. Take your time, make rough cuts, make the final groove at least a little bit wider than the bit so you can shave off each edge individually, and you will get GREAT results, and it will be much more enjoyable.Another thing to note is that unless you are surfacing off the entire board, then you are better off with a hand router or a table router over a CNC router. The reason is, unless the material and your machine table are incredibly flat, or you are surfacing off the entire cutting board on the CNC, the variation in thickness will make the upper round over come out wider or narrower depending on the exact height of the surface at any given point. I had an existing cutting board I wanted to make the groove in, and I didn't want to surface it down, so I played it safe and made a template with my CNC and then used a hand router with the template clamped to the cutting board and this way the hand router is always referencing from the actual surface of the material and I got extremely accurate radii along the upper edge. It's a really great profile bit and I'm really happy with it!

This is not my favorite juice groove bit, but it is a solid option. I like that it rounds both shoulders of the groove.

This SpeTool juice groove router bit is a precision tool that absolutely delivers. The 1/8" radius is perfect for creating clean, smooth drainage grooves in cutting boards and trays, and it also adds a subtle, decorative edge when needed. It cuts beautifully—no tear-out, no burn marks—just crisp, consistent lines. The 1/4" shank fits securely in my router, and the bit stays sharp even after multiple projects. It’s ideal for custom woodworking work where clean detail matters. Five stars for quality, performance, and the kind of results that make a project look truly professional.

This is a router bit for the singular purpose of cutting a shallow "juice groove" into the top of a cutting board. I have made a number of wooden cutting boards and have generally opt not to cut the groove into the top because it can be a bit challenging to setup and any mistakes are hard to remedy. The process demands careful setup and a well designed jig. I had a friend who made a lot of cutting boards to sell and ruined enough of them to decide that it wasn't worth the trouble! However, I think with this bit in hand, I will give it a second chance. This bit is one of the higher quality carbide tools that I have seen from this part of the world recently. The carbide is sharp, cleanly braised, and I think it will do a good job. With a quarter inch shank, I will be careful to take light cuts, particularly on the final pass. Depending on the amount of extension from the collet, these bits do exhibit some amount of deflection. Moving with the correct amount of velocity to avoid burning without risking damage to the bit is a careful balance.Unfortunately, as the use case is limited basically to cutting boards, I will not actually be able to use this bit until I get around to making one - which might be a while. That said, I don't see any reason that this bit would not perform quite well. It is obviously manufactured to a high standard and I have no reservations and recommending it.

I recently purchased two large teak cutting boards that were on clearance. They did not have juice grooves, but because they were such a good price I figured I would get them anyway. I got this router bit for the sole purpose of cutting juice grooves in these cutting boards (and others if necessary in the future). The price seemed a little high, but then I started looking at the cost of other specialty router bits and decided the price was actually reasonable. It is a high quality router bit with a 1/4" shank. I knew I would need a jig to make sure I didn't screw this up so I built one after watching several YouTube videos and dove in. One of the secrets I learned from watching the videos is not to plunge the bit the full depth in order to avoid burn marks. Instead, I made several passes, each time lowering the bit more until I reached the final depth. The end result was a beautiful juice groove that looked like it was made at the factory. This bit worked great and I plan to use it other projects in the future.
