This item has spikes in the bottom plate. The size of the plate overall, makes it silly to think that I could finish my tiny little backyard in less than a few days. It’s just too small to make any real headway.

First of all it was easy to assemble. I just use some lock tite on each nut to secure in place. Now if you have clay soil you have to time it right when to aerate, too wet clay will stick to the tines, if too dry hole will collapse. Before removing tool give it a little wiggle ,do it right none of the tines will bend. After a few weeks I noticed a healthy green lawn way better than before I used this tool.

This tool works well to aeriate the lawn. It is easy to use. It lacks the strength needed for hard packed lawns. The hollow handle broke off in the more packed lawn. We had a new solid handle welded on it. This is a handy tool, but would recommend a solid handle.

Does exactly what it does. I used this for a small area in my back yard where I was having problems with grass growing because the soil was very hard. Use this, now i have beautiful grass growing. Got the job done!

Maintaining lawns can be tough and using this aerator tool creates 2" depth spikes allowing natural airflow to reach deeper into soil for growing. Despite its simple handle, putting together required fair bit of assembly using 3 separate metal rods alongside tightening down individual bolts attaching spikes.Once put together, stepping right onto base drives soil spikes creating ventilation holes which are somewhat difficult to spot being only 2" and 0.2" diameter. Tool is better suited to flat grass or after mowing lawns creating enough space to allow spikes to reach inside. Also takes quite a lot of manual force both driving spikes and lifting tool upwards when it gets stuck. Couple flaws in build quality, screw threads weren't machined correctly probing outwards from sides of handle connectors and have sharp edges.While sturdy metal components, aerating lawns using this tool becomes cumbersome requiring downforce to insert soil spikes and pulling upwards. Handle while firm to grip onto has screw thread putting height at 33". Smaller base took nearly 45 minutes to cover about 150sqft of grass but otherwise a handy manual tool for small lawns.

This was very simple to put together and really sturdy once assembled. The metal is of decent quality and should hold up over time. I got this to aerate a small grass area that has been growing poorly. I’m thankful that I only had a small area to work on as it was a lot of work to stomp it into the ground and pull it out. I think less spikes but bigger would have worked better and not made it as difficult to remove. Everything help up though, as in nothing bent, so I can’t complain.
