Unlike the others I’ve had, these do not take up the whole area of the electrical outlet. With these, they take up much less space so the other place to plug something in is still useable.

These are among the best remote-control outlets I’ve tested. They’re high quality, well thought out, feature-rich and perform flawlessly.Out of the box, each outlet is labeled on the back with a channel (CH-1, CH-2, etc). Initially, this is how they are paired to the remotes. Pressing the "ON" or "OFF" button for a specific channel will control the matching outlet. However, you can reassign channels or pair multiple outlets to the same button for customized control. It’s important to note that you need to program outlets to each remote separately, but this adds flexibility. For example, you could have an outlet assigned to channel 1 on one remote but channel 2 (or not assigned at all) on the second remote. You can even disassociate an outlet from the remotes entirely, putting it into a manual-only mode. The flexible programming means you can buy additional outlets or remotes and mix and match them to suit your needs.There is a switch on the left side of each outlet that is used both for manual control and programming. A red LED indicator lights up whenever the outlet is on (whether controlled manually or remotely) making it easy to confirm status at a glance.The outlets are designed for indoor use only, but their range is impressive. In my tests, I was able to control them from 50 feet away, through three load-bearing walls and one floor up. I have no doubt they can meet their advertised 100-foot range, though obstructions or interference could reduce it slightly. This performance makes them incredibly reliable and versatile, even for larger homes or spaces.The outlets use a magnetic switching design. In the event of a power outage, the outlets default to "off" and remain off until switched back on. This adds a layer of safety, especially for devices like heaters or cooking appliances. However, this may not be ideal for equipment that needs to turn back on automatically when power is restored, such as with network hardware or medical devices.The outlets are rated for up to 15 amps for devices with steady power needs like lamps, heaters, or most household appliances. For devices that draw a surge of power when starting up (such as motors) they support up to 10 amps.The kit includes five outlets and two remotes, along with holders for the remotes. The holders come with both mounting screws and adhesive tape, allowing convenient placement. The remotes are powered by 12-volt 23A batteries, which are less common than AA or AAA batteries you might keep around the house. Thankfully, batteries are included - you just need to remove a plastic tab before using them.The customization, power-outage safety and impressive range make these a standout choice for anyone seeking convenient control of devices in their home.

I like the simplicity of having a remote for these. I am using them for my Christmas lights now but that season is nearly over. I also have them set up for my porch string lights. I use these from the living room to turn on 3 switches for the Christmas lights and one switch for the porch. The porch outlet is probably 25 feet away and the first two Christmas light outlets are through a concrete block wall and a total of maybe 45 feet. The last outlet is through a couple interior walls and into the far side of the garage, probably 65 feet? All four of the outlets I am using work well with no issues. I have no current need for a fifth outlet so that's just a spare.The outlets come in a box with no indication of which one is #1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. So you just have to plug them in and play with the remote to know which is which and then mark it with a Sharpie. I have not used the second remote.Absolutely recommended.

This product has really changed how my "Man Cave" game room functions.When this came in I re-wired my power strips and put certain items on each strip then plugged them into different outlets. I can now turn off items I don't need and turn on groups of systems instead of everything having to be on.Another great use - Think about how many items you have plugged in that draw power even when they're off. TV, DVD, stereo... if a remote turns on a device then yes it is drawing power all the time! This also saves you money by cutting these devices off from power when not in use.As it is set up now I can go down the stairs, grab the remote off the wall next to the light switch and turn on whatever I plan on using without having to reach and stretch to power up strips by hand. I power up about a dozen game consoles, a surround sound stereo, a DVD player, a VCR (yes I still have one!), a desktop PC and an LCD TV all through these switches! Using separate outlets but yes all through these awesome switches.Keep in mind these are 15A switches so I really don't recommend plugging in a vacuum into one of these but beyond that you'll have no issues with these!

As indicated in the description, you get two remotes and five outlets. The remotes come with mounting brackets, screws and double sided tape. The outlets have an amazing range. I was at least 60 feet away with several walls between the remote and outlet and it still received the on/off commands; description indicates a 100 foot range. The outlets come preprogrammed to a remote selection number, you just need to carefully look on the back of the outlet to find which number. I was curious about reprogramming an outlet so per the directions I erased an outlet’s programming and reprogrammed it to the same number as one of the other outlets. The resetting and programming were simple per the supplied directions. As I hoped, both outlets were now controlled by the same buttons. I reset the outlet back to its original assigned number without any issues. I can see these being used for hot water recirculating pumps, gas fireplaces with wall switches, as well as what the description mentions. Highly recommended.
