I had to return BOTH of the two antennas I purchased. For whatever reason, the first antenna did not work at all on either 2M nor on 70CM.When I touched the second antenna to remove it from the packaging the top cap popped off. I thought maybe it just wasn't screwed down all the way but when I checked it, the threads were simply all screwed up and it APPEARED that someone used Super Glue to glue it on! This is purely conjecture on my part but my guess is that this antenna had been previously returned to Amazon and someone glued the cap back on it and put it back in the bin to be sold again.I have no idea if the issues with this product are the fault of the manufacturer, the supplier or Amazon but in any case do NOT waste your hard earned money on this product!

This antenna is very good however I did try it on few different brands of handhelds and tbh it does it’s job for receiving transmissions however during transmission on all brands my listeners are only getting 80 percent of transmission from me that being said this is a good backup but I went with another telescopic antenna and it is way better and it has the option to put a rubber duck on so you don’t have to use the telescope the whole time

Very cheaply made antenna, did not improve reception o er the stock rubber duck. I returned but they said they never received the return so they charged me for it again. Absolutely do not buy

I purchased this "TWAYRDIO UHF/VHF 144/430MHz SAM-Male Ham Radio Transceiver Telescopic Antenna 35-inch High Gain Extendable" from Amazon, and it was delivered on August 15th, 2019. I was not paid to review this product, nor did I get any discount or other consideration for doing so.The build quality seems fine, and it fits perfectly on my Icom ID-51+. The design of these types of antennas mean that the top section can get a little fragile, however they designed this one to be pretty thick when it's folded up, so it should be fine to throw into my laptop bag.I tested the antenna with a RigExpert AA-600 antenna analyzer to determine SWR on both bands. I also used a local 2 meter repeater's "signal test" function to get the repeater to tell me the signal strength of my transmission at the repeater's side. The repeater is about 10 miles away and I have line of sight to the repeater.I mounted the antenna on a mag mount SWR bracket on a wrought iron table for my testing.This antenna got a S5 signal report. A tiny Diamond Antenna SRHF10 got an S3. The antenna has excellent SWR on both the 2 meters and 70 centimeters bands.This is an excellent antenna for the money!

Nothing outstanding here, contrary to the hype. Field tests don't show any difference between this and my RH-7700 antenna. Of course, that also means it is better than the stock antenna by a good margin, but at the cost of an extended metal whip. Would I buy it over the RH7700 - NO. If I were replacing the stock antenna, YES.

This antenna works great with my Yaesu FT-1D. It is far superior to the standard rubber duck antenna.Highly recommended.I did not give it 5 stars because the telescoping sections should have a tighter mechanical fit. It feels a bit wobbly.But it still works fine, so excellent value for the price.
