Seems like a good idea. Honestly I just got it for the zip ties. The packaging is not great for keeping the product together unless you are very very careful. It comes stapled together and after you carefully remove the staples, the package is basically just a folded plastic sheet with some minimal molding where all these tiny pieces are stored between the 2 flat plastic sheets. Everything is loose and if you really want to keep it organized and be able to close it, you have to align all the pieces carefully and then fold the 2 sheets of plastic back together and press it together to close it, finagling the pieces so they are all in the right spot and the hinges actually close without anything sticking up or sliding out of place. It kind of works, but I could see it being an explosive disaster if someone just carelessly tries to pry it open with the parts flying everywhere.To open it, you have to basically make sure it is face down on a flat table and then open the top lid very carefully and then hope the paper insert has kept everything together.

There's not much to review here, as these hook keepers do exactly what they claim to do. They attach easily to any rod with a simple zip tie, and they stay secure. They're not the most attractive things, but they're extremely functional. The 3 different colors can either mix things up randomly, or be used to easily categorize rods rigged for different purposes (e.g., plastics, topwater, etc.). Though they work on any rods, I personally wouldn't put one on a fly rod for pure aesthetic reasons, but I have a number of spinning rods without hook keepers that will benefit from them.

Universal Fishing Hook Keeper - Silicone Secure Holder for All Rods (Ultra Light to Sea), 12-Pack with Nylon Zip Tie ~ These do the job if you need it. Most of our fishing poles have a secure holder, but if you have some older poles or the holder has broken off, then these absolutely save the day. $10 for 12 at the time of this writing is a decent price if it's something you need.

These Universal Fishing Hook Keeper - Silicone Secure Holder for All Rods are the perfect hook keepers that now allow me to keep my hook , or hooks securely in place. No more of when I'm jumping out of my car to head to my favorite Honey hole to fish. Only to find myself having to deal with removing my hook from being caught on everything inside my vehicle. Because its loosely flailing all over the place no matter ho much I'd try to tie it in place. This Universal Hook keeper is so functional . It easily fit around my Rods and even fits my larger cat fish rods staying tightly in place using the included zip-ties. I'm now even able to keep my treble hooks in place resulting in less snags , and injuries while transporting my rods. I would certainly recommend this Universal Fishing Hook Keeper - Silicone Secure Holder for All Rods. Its a good price and value for the money.
