Absolute junk! I can't get it to catch the hair on any coat. It just runs on top of the hair no matter what you try. I thought it might have been the little red place pieces between the blades. So I cut them out and readjusted the blade out some but it made not difference... waste of money!

I have an aussie shepard and she constantly gets mats on her underbelly. I was hoping this would help me avoid having to cut them out, it didn't. It was painful to her, didn't do a thing to the mats. It works for shedding but that's about it.

This is pretty well made, with a metal handle and solid tines to the rake. The rakes are thin, but not sharp, so they glide through fur easily. They're hooked (rounded tips) so they catch into the mats, but they just kind of force their way through. The inner curve of the tines is sharpened, which is mean to cut apart the mats, but that doesn't particularly solve the tangling issue. It just cuts and pulls out fur. That works ok for longer fur but not that effective for short fur. I think it may leave some spots looking uneven from the random cutting if you use it too much.

It worked nicely on the back of our schnauzer mix but didn't remove mats around her legs. She doesn't have thick fur, but it's medium length. When I got around a mat it felt like I was pulling to hard. It looked like it was pulling her skin and fur away from her leg. I might have been doing it wrong, or her mats are just too hard, but it was working everywhere else. I will continue to use this brush on her, just not on her matted spots. I do like how it made her coat look smoother and have a cleaner appearance. And it's extremely easy to clean with no mess.

If you have a pet that sheds, this does WONDERS to get to the undercoat and remove a lot of hair. I immediately noticed a difference in the amount of hair around the house after using this. While we brush our pet every day, it just seemed like it wasn't doing much to help.
