Do not buy this product. It says it came with two brushes, nope just one. The paper for painting on it slick, not watercolor or even multi-media product. And the water colors provided are not even close to the colors suggested to paint the flowersBut the flowers were pretty!

This is a rip-off of Emily Lex Studio's art and should not be sold. Also, the paper is glossy and not watercolor. Lastly, the pages were not printed in the proper order. I will be reporting this being sold since this is stolen artwork.

For the cost, I shouldn't be surprised the quality is poor. At first glance I was really excited. The line drawing are pretty and the instructions make it seem easy to create lovely little watercolorsBut, the paint is chalky and chunky and really not easy to work with. The paper is also terrible. Not like watercolor paper, Its thin and slick and just not what I expected.

I am a beginner at watercolor painting, and I really like that, this book helps you understand how to make the colors and gives you a guideline on how to paint the sketch. We will be traveling soon and this book will be a great tool to help me keep up with watercolor painting, and help me get better at different colors and shading. I think this little book is really easy to follow, whenever you’re just learning watercolor. We did have extra brushes and I think the brush that it comes with is OK but you definitely need a few extra brushes. I think this would be a great gift if you know someone who is starting out with watercolor, maybe with an extra set of brushes to help. I think that the price point on this is OK, while there isn’t a ton of pictures to paint It’s still a really great starting point when you’re learning. I would recommend this book for a real beginner, I will probably actually order a few more.

Buyer beware. If you found this artbook by searching for Emily Lex, this is 100% a dupe, and its quality is absolutely terrible. The paints included with the set are garbage, the book is printed on the worst kind of watercolor paper. Will buy straight from the source next time. Whoever is committing this fraud should be ashamed.

I love this . It’s easy to use. I do recommend getting a very thin brush, like an eye liner to paint the thinner lines. The brush that comes with it works in some places but not on others.

If you want to try watercolors, this would be a nice, fairly easy set to start with. It’s geared toward adults, or perhaps older children/teens who have the patience to follow instructions. Simple instructions and a basic color mixing guide in the book are helpful. Each sketch is accompanied by a color palette, simply mix the colors, using the lid as a palette, and paint. The paper is smooth, unlike typical watercolor paper, but durable and held the paint without bleeding or soaking through.As I always do, I made a color swatch of the 12 colors, using one of my own round brushes. Then, I made one swatch using the included flat brush to see how it performed. Then, I started one of the sketches, even using the flat brush, which requires a light hand.4 stars only because of the flat brush; a rounded brush (as shown being used in the product demo) would be more versatile.
