Attention

- Please make sure that there aren't any bad sectors on the drives in use, as to avoid data transfer errors, overheating and damage to the station.

-Please check if the capacity of Target disk is larger or equivalent to that of Source disk.

- Do not insert or withdraw HDD or SSD when another hard drive running.

- Please backup files in the target hard drive before cloning. Any files in target hard drive will be overwritten when offline cloning occurs.

- To avoid data loss, do not remove or insert drives when one drive is working in the docking station. Please power off the docking station before removing.

I have lost data on a couple of hard drives using cloning software, along with tying up my computer for hours. With this, all you have to do is insert the hard drives, hit a button and walk away until it's done. I've used it many times and have never lost any data.

It's usually a pain to clone hard drives, in no small part due to losing the use of my computer while doing it. With this ingenious little device, that problem is gone. I copied a mechanical drive for a laptop onto an SSD that's 3 times its capacity with almost no involvement at all. It worked flawlessly. My only regret is that I did several clones before this, so now it'll be a while before I get to do another!Oh, and maybe it would be nice if it could handle M2 drives too.

I needed to clone a faulty disk which did not work, unfortunately but it was clearly stated by the device manufacturer i think, that faulty disk won't work. But for cloning other good disk, the offline clone was good. I did not encounter any issues with the clone disk.

What a fantastic cloning machine. I am not a computer tech person but watching YouTube videos on how this machine works along with how to remove the rear panel and existing hard disk drive from my Dell All-in-One computer was really a breeze. I removed the hard disk drive from my computer and put that in as the source and then put a new Samsung 1 terabyte solid state drive in the Target slot and off I went. About 3 hours later it made a complete clone and I installed that back into my computer, turned it on and voila everything worked perfectly. I was almost surprised how well it went. This certainly beats trying to do it by using software.

I bought this because I had an HDD start to fail, so I bought this with a replacement HDD and this managed to clone it completely despite my PC having trouble reading the failing drive occasionally. It may have taken almost 12 hours to get the job done but I was patient and let it do its job.The only downside is it got pretty warm during transfer (which makes sense considering what it was doing) so I had to keep it in front of a cool fan during the process. Still, can definitely recommend!

I have never cloned a hard drive before, so I was pretty nervous. The instructions were pretty straight forward and honestly, it wasn't terribly difficult or stressful to install the hard drives into this thing. The problem was when I powered it on. Reading the instructions, you can plug this thing into your computer using USB and the computer will read the hard drives installed as external. The source (new) hard drive was plugged in and everything seemed to be working as expected. My computer recognized both the device and the hard drive and installed it as usual. Then, nothing. The device died almost instantaneously, most concerning was with the new hard drive still in it. Nothing. Unplugged everything, tried to start it with both hard drives, without, all of the ways I could think. It's dead. I'm not sure about the new hard drive that was installed it it when it died, whether that still is functional or not, but they make it specifically clear that they are not liable if something happens. I had ordered a replacement to try again, but I can't trust this product any longer and cancelled it. I would take any responsibility for anything I may have done, whether my computer overloaded it or I mishandled it somehow, I could guess all day. Bottomline, the product failed, purchase at your own risk.

So I've purchased several of these docking stations, 3 for myself, and 5 for various clients. As far as a HDD docking station, they work well enough. Built-in cloning works fine as well, albeit you need to ensure the target drive's "true" capacity is equal to or larger than the source drive's "true" capacity. This is not always an easy task unless you are very familiar with various manufacturer's various models of drives. Fortunately for myself, this is not an issue, but your average Amazon customer will probably have some difficulties there. So the biggest issue I have with this product from Wavlink is that even though it supports UASP, it doesn't fully support it. It does not appear to relay to the operating system (Win 10 or otherwise) that an inserted drive is an SSD. Since Wavlink does not have any drivers for this device, it relies on Windows built-in UASP support. Windows doesn't recognize the SSD and therefore if you bring up the "Optimize" tool (from Explorer, right click drive, select properties, Tools tab) it will show up as an HDD instead of SSD and therefore you cannot perform a TRIM on the SSD. In fact, you can seriously degrade your SSD if you perform an actual optimization at that point (so DON'T do it!).Even defrag from a CMD window (defrag : /L /U /V) will tell you it cannot perform a TRIM on the SSD drive. There's no real way to force Windows to recognize it as an SSD. This functionality can only be done via properly supporting UASP on the docking station. NOTE: your USB chipset, and operating system must support UASP in addition to the device (Win 8.1 and up do internally, as well as any modern motherboard and USB expansion cards of the last several years). Finally, for anyone who is looking for an HDD/SSD docking station that supports TRIM, I have found at least one that does: DBPOWER USB 3.0 to SATA dual bay dock does this, though it does not appear to be available on Amazon anymore. Only the single bay appears to be available, but I do not know whether that one supports the functionality or not.
