Just a quick sweep of the handle after grabbing the top of the bottle firmly with the tool, a second sweep and the cork come right off the screw.

I was very enthusiastic about this opener because I've had several that broke after some modest period of use. This one looks sturdy.Unfortunately, mine didn't work well. The corkscrew didn't lift the cork out vertically, but tried to pull it out at an angle. The problem is that the glass bottle is in the way. Last night, I thought I'd try it one more time. I'm a pretty strong guy, but I couldn't get the cook out of the bottle. So I unscrewed the opener from the bottle, pushed a bit of the cork back in, and used another opener. Easy peasy. Opened without any struggle. I threw the "sturdy" corkscrew into the trash.

Had this for several months now and I barely got any use out of it. At first it wasn’t picking up the cork well and then eventually it broke- beyond repair. It’s a nice sleek design, but I’ve had much better luck with steel/metal openers.

I bought this wine opener early August 2023, by November 203 it was starting to get jammed up and by Thanksgiving it was unusable. I contacted the seller, got a quick response and was sent a warranty replacement. I hope that this one last a while since when it was working it worked great and I like the design.
