For 23. I don't think you can go wrong here. Step bits are spendy and you get a few bits and a nice case with this barging.I've only used one bit for a couple holes which I used tap oil while drilling 1/8 mild steel and it seemed to cut as good as any other step bit I've had in the past. I definitely would never drill without oil or at high speed that's how you wreck bits fast!As long as you treat the bits good I believe they will last bit only time will tell. I'll have to update this one once I have more use on these bits.Honestly for the price if they get you out of a jamb as spares I figure why not?

First of all, I very much appreciate two things about this set - First off, it comes with a nice little case. This is extremely handy to have when you are mobile with your tools. Second off - the big bit has engraved size marks on each step. I wish more bit companies did that.However, these bits are a little on the light duty side of things. They work good for a little while, and dull quickly. If you need a set of step bits to have in your kit for a back up - this is a good choice. If you are doing a lot of hole cutting in PVC, or wood - these will work great. If you are planning on using these frequently to cut holes in steel - I would advise moving to a different set. They do cut in metal, but dull quickly. I downgraded two stars for that.I have made these my set for cutting in light aluminum and plastic only.
