This is an expensive hole saw for soft materials. For the price, the hole saw is quite well made and it cuts well. It cuts a nice hole for 2" PVC pipes to go through wall or studs, leaving the right amount of slack for easy manipulation. I wouldn't use it to cut harder materials though. The teeth can quickly dull by hard wood or metal.

Good budget option, 3" exactly and it went through 1/2" board fine.

This 2-1/2 inch bi-metal hole saw is a fantastic addition to my tool collection! I’ve used it on wood, plastic, and even metal, and it delivers smooth, clean cuts every time. The included arbor makes setup easy, and the design allows for fast chip removal, preventing clogging and overheating. It’s durable and holds up well even with frequent use. Whether you’re a DIYer or a professional, this hole saw is a great value for the price. Highly recommend!

The build quality seems sturdy and not prone to breaking. The thickness of the metal on the blade is thick, and the included guide bit seems to be sharp and made out of decently hard metal. For wood/plastic, I imagine it would last a long time without the need for sharpening.I don't currently have any sheet steel/aluminum to test it on, but I would be more hesitant to use it on any kind of metal. The thickness of the blade is actually a bad thing for metal, and the teeth are at too aggressive of a pitch to be durable in cutting metal. If you just need to drill one hole in metal, it would probably do the job, but I would not recommend repeated use in that way.The arbor design is quite poor. The saw blade threads onto the arbor, without any kind of securing nut. Especially if you are using this with a drill with any kind of clutch, this will likely lead to the blade becoming loose and unthreading itself when stopping drilling. I very much prefer arbors which have some way to secure the blade onto them, not just for convenience, but also for safety.

It did an effective job of drilling a 2 inch hole. I seem to never have the correct size one that I need, so I end up buying 2 or 3 of these a year. This one was reasonably priced and I hope it will last a long time.

This looks and feels like a very well made, heavy duty hole saw. The arbor was easy to install with the included hex wrench and it's a very solid connection. Five stars.

I needed to cut a 1” hole through some boards and this hole saw worked perfectly for it. I also tested it by drilling several holes on various thickness wooden boards and this is where the imperfection showed up.For thinner material held securely in place this saw goes right through using a cordless drill. For thick boards (more than 3/4”) you’d need to use some strength. Based on my tests the stated usage for drilling wooden, acrylic, plastic boards is accurate. I tested it on a ¼” thick aluminum piece leftover from a door installation and it cut through cleanly. However I don’t have a lot of confidence in its durability if used on metal all the time. The other reason why I rate it a 4 star item is because for the same price you could find sets on Amazon that cut many more sizes at proportionally lower prices.
