These worked as expected with no fanfare or issues. USB type-C interface and included breakout cables are a nice touch. Little bit on the expensive side, in my opinion, but not absurdly so. Doesn't have dedicate 3.3/5V rails like my go-to serial adapters, but you get two so you can just set each one to a different VCC.

These USB-Serial adapters work perfectly for talking to embedded computers that use TTL-level UARTs. I appreciate the TX and RX LEDs, they can help a LOT with troubleshooting. USB-C connectivity makes them easy to connect a phone for in-situ debugging. The chip does appear to be a genuine FTDI part. It gave me no grief during use.Included is a fan-out cable with Dupont-style sockets, and some pin headers for devices that have sockets instead of pins. Also a header with pins on one side and sockets on the other. I'm guessing this is to allow faster repeat connections; attach the fanned out cables to one side and use the entire thing as a plug. The other pins from the FT232RL are exposed as well, labeled on the backside of the board.I really have no complaints about these modules. They just work, and the included accessories are very appreciated. They're not even all that expensive! If you do any work with single board computers or embedded devices, I'd definitely recommend them.
