The LENOX Tools Bi-Metal Speed Slot Arbored Hole Saw with T3, 1-3/4"-44mm, has enhanced tooth geometry that cuts 50% faster than previous LENOX hole saws. Twice as durable as our previous generation when cutting through metal, this bi-metal hole saw with a standard arbor features thicker walls to minimize tooth loss and improve durability. A staircase SPEED SLOT has a wide slot placed low on the hole saw and multiple leverage points to make it easy to work plugs out with a screwdriver. This design effectively removes sawdust and chips and helps prevent plugs from becoming stuck in the saw. 10% taller than previous models, it delivers cleaner cuts through two-by lumber.

The Lenox Tools 1222828A 28A Bi-Metal Speed Slot Arbore Hole Saw, 1-3/4-Inch or 44mm outperforms all competitors in wood cutting, plug removal, and metal cutting applications. The patent pending Speed Slot features a staircase design for easy plug removal. The slot is wider than most and is placed lower on the hole saw with multiple leverage points to easily eject the plug with a standard screwdriver. The hole saw is 10-percent taller than the previous model to deliver cleaner cuts through two-by lumber. The Speed Slot efficiently removes saw dust and chips while producing a fast cut and preventing the plug from getting stuck in the saw. The new hole saw also features up to twice the life of the previous model when cutting metal. An enhanced tooth geometry, a thin kerf design and an advanced coating contribute to the efficiency of the cutting process by removing material faster, therefore generating less heat while cutting.

I needed wood plugs to fit 1.25" PVC T connectors and this created a plug slightly smaller fit to provide enough room for JD Weld glue. I made a total of 20 plugs in a 2x4 and each cut was sharp as the first cut.

Worked well and easy to clean out the trapped wood . Cut fairly fast. Time will tell how well the teeth hold up.

My purposes for this hole saw revolve around woodwork, so I cannot attest to its durability for other materials just yet.I previously purchased one of those hole saw kits from amazon that include a ton of different sizes. While they get the job done when needed, they don't have the same quality as these (Lenox).While making some items out of maple, my old hole saw was struggling to get through the hardwood without burning or leaving nasty teeth marks. I had to make a ton of holes, so I needed to find a better solution. I figured I would give this hole saw a shot and I'm glad I did! This saw went through 2" solid maple as if it were construction grade pine! It left extremely minimal teeth marks and did not burn at all. The teeth marks were so minimal that If you even look at maple wrong it will burn, so I was extremely impressed not to get any marks.The wood disc that is cut off was extremely easy to remove from the saw as well. I've used other hole saws that bind the cut off disc inside the housing and make you have to drill out pieces. Not this bad boy! The center bit also does not come loose if tightened correctly using the set screw.Overall, I totally dig this hole saw and will continue to use this brand in the future.

Not a lot to this. I bought the hole saw to drill a hole in my trailer wall for a power outlet installation. Using an 18V cordless drill (kickin it old school) this saw made it through fairly quickly and the teeth are still in good shape to be used again if need be. LENOX is a recognized name and I felt the ~$15 was a decent price. I would definitely recommend this hole saw to anyone who needs one.

I'm sure it's great for other uses but for what I wanted to use it for it worked great, 06 honda shadow vlx600 it fit snuggly into the exhaust to take out the baffle cleanly at the tip.

I was looking for a deeper hole cutter, as i was trying to cut out my baffle on my motorcycle's exhaust, but this one isn't deep enough, but it cuts holes in stuff, used it for a faucet for my sink (and saved myself $85 from buying it pre-cut [who knew?])
