The Quilter's Basting Gun I received was defective. The red plastic tacks that you insert are of inferior quality and would only bunch up in the baster and jam. I loaded and reloaded different tack strips over and over and each one only gummed up the tacks, and would not send it through the needle, or would jam in the needle and not exit it. This is not due to operator error, as I have used a Dritz Basting Gun for over 25 years and my previous one worked beautifully until it broke. I only sew a new quilt every 2-3 months so I just opened this new basting gun up my husband purchased for me, thinking it would be a quality product and work. Boy, was I wrong. Now, you won't accept my return or refund and I am left with a product I can't use. I won't be purchasing anymore products from Dritz or this seller again.

This is a big-time saver for basting a quilt. You need to be very careful when removing as to avoid cutting the fabric.

My first time basting a quilt for hand quilting. If you read the directions thoroughly, you would know that the needle has to be inserted into the fabric first before pulling the trigger. Out of 200 attempts, I had 3 tries where the plastic tie failed to enter the fabric. I enjoyed using the product and still have plastic ties for other projects.

Had to do it a couple of times to angle correctly for it to work as it should ....works great will be using to stabilize quilt to sew to together instead of using safety pins. Highly recommend.

It works well.

Tacks break if you try to put them through more than one layer of fabric. Considering it's intended use is to tack 3 layers together, it's rather useless. I will be returning it. Do not waste your money or time on this thing.

I'm a quilter, I use it to stablelize my my designs. This is my second one. No directions came with it ,and the needle is difficult to insert or replace. And it has to be exactly right or could make holes in falbric.
