My Goodman only likes one kind of t-stat. It 's a high eff gas or electric heat and heat pump air. I have been several programmables only to be told by the factory customer service reps that theirs won't work on my system.There is probably a programmable t-stat out there that will work, but we are both retired and stay home most of the time so this is actually all we need. After working in high-tech for over 30yrs each, we have become Luddites.

Very good thermostat for my heat pump. Nice, simple design.Wiring screws on the inside are placed a bit too close together, compared to other models, making installation just a little bit more difficult than others. Would be nice if text (Cool Off Heat Emer) around the switches was better aligned with where the switch clicks to.

Exact replacement for my old Tstat with the exception that the control wires are secured a little different. A little bit more finiky to get the wires in place but a more positive system. My old Tstat worked but the temp could not be turned down. Has this on the wall for two weeks now and it works in all modes. Same everything except wire hold down.

Good easy to use digital non-programable thermostat. Shows room temp and Set Point temp clearly. Has lighted background to be able to read it easy in the dark. It uses 2 batteries for backup, so you don't lose the programing in case power goes off, but it normally runs on the 24v power from the AC unit. Not complicated & easy to use. Perfect for elderly or technology challenged individuals that don't need the programming features. This is a 2 stage thermostat, so it works with a heat pump to put it in cooling or heating mode, and the 2nd stage will turn on the electric heat strip or Emergency Heat if the outside unit can't produce enough heating. It is easy to hook up it you know what you are doing, if you don't, then get a tech to install it.
