The TFL guys persuaded me. Glad they did. First three months of use has been good.Using this on a Chevy suburban to pull a horse trailer.Noticed a reduction in jerkiness and overall smoother tow.

This thing was well worth the price tag. I used it right off the bat with a 1700 mile drive from Oklahoma to northern Idaho. At times I had to check the trailer was still attached. No more bangs and knocks like the basic hitch. This thing absorbed pretty much every bump, dip and bridge join I encountered. Brilliant design. I haven't had a chance to take it off yet and inspect it for any wear. Highly recommend this.

The Gen-Y hitch far surpassed my expectations! Before when towing my side by side I could feel the weight of the trailer especially when going down dirt roads or trails to get to the RV sites. The Gen-Y hitch has virtually eliminated the road feedback I used to have from the trailer. I hardly notice the trailer is back there anymore. Cannot say enough about how well this hitch works. I plan to purchase a larger hitch for the RV! Thanks Gen-Y for making such a tried and true product.

Defective both times I bought this hitch. There are 4 bolts used for height adjustment, in both cases threads were stripped on arrival preventing at least one of the bolts from being tightened. Recieving a defective once I can understand but twice. I would not recommend and don't trust this hitch due to quality control issue.

I bought this hitch ball mount to take the shock out of towing my 3000 lb camper which has a 325lb tongue load. I’ve tower the camper over 70,000 miles and it’s always tower OK with my Toyota Tacoma. But the sharp shocks are always transferred back and forth from truck to trailer putting much strain on both.I bought this product first because it seemed to be a great idea. Sadly it did not work for my application. My tongue load was not heavy enough to flex the ball plate down flat enough putting some strain on the coupler. There is no way to really adjust the tension. I did some testing with some weight. It seems to take around 400 to 500 lb to have enough load on their torsion mechanism to make the ball vertical and ball plate horizontal. So it just did not work for me.Great company! Wonderfully built product! Great tech support! My only problem with their product is there is just no way to adjust the tension in their torque mechanism so I could get the ball to ride at the correct angle with my trailer. I had absolutely no problem returning the item. They took it back and credited my account. The woman that helped me on the phone was wonderful!I ended up going with a shocker hitch. Made up in North Dakota. It is a little different type of system that uses an airbag so you can adjust the tension in the shock absorbing mechanism. Cost more than this solution. But works for my application.This appears to be a great solution to taking the shock out of towing as long as you have a 400 lb load or higher. You need enough load to get the hitch ball to ride vertical and the ball mounting plate to ride horizontal. See picture. You’ll see the reverse angle my trailer load was having it ride at. Just was not going to work. But if you are in the bearing range that this seems to need I’m sure it would work great! If not take a look at a shocker hitch, which uses an adjustable airbag.

I awaited a while to review this, This hitch is amazing for towing. If you have never used one get one for sure they are worth the money. My truck rides very smooth now with little to no jerk on hwy cruising. Trust me Gen-y products you get what you pay for, this hitch is heavy duty I couldnt believe how heavy this "little guy" gen-y is.
