I use this switch in my solar system. It goes between my panels and the solar charge controller. The SAE connectors make it easy to install. Took my 5 seconds to add this to my system. Now I can shut power off coming from my solar panels any time I need to do maintenance on the rest of the system. The switch is lighted, depending on what way round you install the switch the light will be on when the switch is on or the light will be on constantly when power is present. This is a quality switch that feels good to the touch it has good fit and finish and seems to be well built. I e been using mine for 10 days or so and I couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommended.

Compared to a real, US made, outdoor rated switch, this isn't like that. This has a plastic housing, plastic fittings, plastic threads and a switch with no rating on it.It costs less because it doesn't cost much to make, and so far, it works.I rated it average, or 3 stars because it's working at this point. It's certainly not 5 stars with a cast enclosure, real rubber seals and a real UL rated DC switch with screws threaded into brass. This is plastic, plastic and unknown. The Good:It has a silicon type seal on the housing cover portion. The switch moves smoothly ON-OFFThe switch also lights up when ON which is useful. The bad:The top rubber seal on the switch portion fits loosely and almost falls off. It's good that it has it but it's too loose. The soldering job is just barely hanging on, some are 20% covered in solder (and were hot enough) and some are 75% complete. The screws are threaded into plastic so we only get a couple times to look at or work on it before they strip out. Threaded brass inserts would be better. There's no writing or specs on the switch or on the body to indicate the current capacity. All it says is 12/24V. meaning 24V max. no more. What's the current rating? The listing says 20A but I wouldn't try that much. The plug layout was a bit confusing. The layout changes from one side to the other. The red plug goes in the male socket on one end and out the female socket on the other end.For a minute I thought it didn't work but it's just reversed. Got it.For cheap solar or DC projects, this should work for quite a while if you keep it out of the rain.Rain would eventually get in outdoors and going underwater (as they claim) would get wet in about 3 seconds since the seals are pretty loose.Use it indoors or in rain sheltered areas with loads under 10-15A and I expect it will hold up fine.

This is a nice useful switch for our backup power solar system. It lets Hubby perform maintenance or troubleshooting without turning off the whole system. The switch lights up green when the power is on. It has a nice rocker action that is easy to push on or off. The wire connectors are bonded well and make a firm connection. The mounting tabs make it easy to attach the switch to the wall where you need it. Overall a nice switch for the price.

I am using these with a solar panel that is permanently mounted to a truck I rarely drive, but needs to have the battery maintained. I leave it on all winter, and one week a month in the summer to keep it ready to go without overcharging, this switch is much nicer than having to unplug it

This switch works as I expected. That may sound strange however the previous switch I owned did not have the colored wires (all black) and the end connections were wired F-F and M-M, meaning if you wanted to put that switch inline with a SAE circuit you needed a polarity changer. That was an accident waiting to happen. This switch is very clear about the polarity and the switch also opens the circuit on each wire (DPST).

If you are in the market for a small water resistant rocker switch, then the RPTCOTU company may have just the solution for you. So let’s take a look at this product in more detail.(The good)Well, to start off with it works, I hooked it up and played around with it and it did what it was supposed to do. The build quantity looks good, I found no cosmetic flaws or manufacturers defects. I continuity tested the wires and everything checked out. The rocker has a good crisp snap to it. I opened the switch up and looked inside to see how well the solder was applied, and everything looked good. If you want to surface mount the switch, two screw down points are provided.(The questionable)You will need to be careful when you screw the cover back on the switch housing as your screwing metal screws into plastic. Looking at the gasket left me with the impression that the cover needed to be screwed down further for better compression. Since I won't be using it outside, I decided to just leave it as it was.(The confusing)Reading the online description and comparing it to the photos you will see the current rating is listed as both 20 and 25 amps. And the IP rating is listed as both IP65 and IP67. Nothing is marked on the box itself (?)In all, it’s not a bad little switch. I would beef up the screw holes so one could better compress the gasket. But then again most people probably aren’t going to be taking it apart to begin with, and I suspect the manufacturer has to balance that against keeping the price down.

I like using his for solar system cut offs. A lot of my connections are SAE plugs so its simple to throw one of these in line and be able to control what is on, off, flowing, etc.
