The Leecraft Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert supports work right up to the blade. With outstanding durability and wear-resistance, it also reduces chip-out and splintering. The zero-clearance concept is simple: the blade cuts its own perfectly sized slot by being raised through a machinable "blank" insert. Made from high-density phenolic laminate with a bonded-melamine surface, the insert is 1/2-inch thick. It offers superior rigidity, flatness, durability, and low friction. Other features include leveling screws, side and end adjustment screws for a vibration-free fit, a rear safety pin for lift-out protection, and a precut blade bottom pocket that provides clearance for fully retracted blades and bevel cuts. Designed for the Delta table saw with carbide-tipped blades only, this insert comes with Leecraft's lifetime warranty.

needed a new insert for a dado stack. this fit perfectly in my delta 36-979. didn’t care for the leveling screws versus other phenolic inserts but it works and fits well.

I have purchased these before for my Delta table saw. The quality is good but each time I insert one for the first time, the groove on the underside hits the blade even though it is fully retracted. I turned on the table saw and it immediately tripped the breaker. I had to try and lower the insert with the saw running to cut through the insert. This is potentially dangerous.

I purchased this insert to try on my Ohio Forge 10” table saw sold through HomeDepot around 1990. This saw appeared identical to the Delta Contractor model (except sheet metal) sitting right next to it for over $200 more. The fit was excellent except the radius ends were slightly longer on this insert. It took some doing to file down the tip of a radius on just one end. I ended up using a power sander with 80G flapper disc to remove a very small amount of material. These inserts are very tough and stiff. I am most impressed. If you attempt to hammer the insert into the cast iron table base oversized the insert will crown in the center and this is very undesirable for quality saw cuts. After hammering the insert back out it went back flat and I continued to sand until I had a snug fit. Purchase with confidence.

The insert required some sanding to fit my Powermatic 63. A belt sander makes quick work of it.

This works very well as advertised. the instructions are clear, the quality is good. I would have liked to be able to have a choice of colors. I got brown, which would not be my first choice. I would recommend buying one, but be advised that you will get a random color.

I wasn't sure what to expect - would it be red like in the product photo, or yellow like some reviewers had received; would it be particle board with laminate or some odd ply/plastic combo; would the pre-cut pocket be in the right place; would it even fit my saw?The woodgrain was unexpected, but a classy touch. What was the most surprising was how dense and heavy this thing is. It's not ply, it's phenolic plastic. HARD stuff. I think it's the same stuff they make billiards balls out of? I like the pre-cut pockets on the underside. Even with my blade all the way lowered into the cabinet, it needed that pocket space (see photo).I followed the instructions as directed, first adjusting the leveling with the table surface and side/front adjustment screws, and then took it slow bringing the blade up through the insert and my clamped scrap 2x4. Good thing too - in fact, as I raised the blade and made some cuts, I lowered it again to allow cooling as it did smoke. I have a very sharp carbide toothed CMT blade that chews through hard maple like butter, but it smoked going through this insert. The dust collector pulled it away, but I did need to open the garage door to air the place out.One thing I wished I had done before cutting is verifying that my blade was at a true 90 degree angle. It was off by less than half a degree when I cut it. So after I thought of it and set it back to exactly 90 degrees, it rubs a little on the cutout. I think it'll wear itself down after a while, but it doesn't seem to want to re-cut that little but when I send the blade back through. The difference is about 1/32nd of an inch, so not a huge deal. This is a much more solid option than the pine, baltic birch and MDF inserts I've made on my own over the years. I like this so much that I ordered a few more so that I can have one for 45 degree bevels and a couple of different dado stack widths.

Arrived on time. Packing was over kill, but I'm ok with that. Came with clear instructions. I dropped it in, leveled it with the four installed screws. Then I set the side to side screw followed by the front to back screw. Tomorrow I will make the thin kerf initial cut. My 2nd or 3rd hand Delta 36-640 contractor saw table did not come with a riffing knife, blade guard or splitter (replacement parts are also discontinued). I may have found a suitable substitution riffing knife so with safety in mind this is a huge step forward for me. Some projects will have to wait until I get the riffing knife / splitter issue resolved (no ripping). I would recommend this item, it is high quality. Now it is Jun 2018 and I'm buying another for a full kerf blade as the original one I purchased has not a flaw with it in all this time - I have cut yellow/purple heart, plywood, walnut, maple and pine and not once has it failed me or has it even moved. For my saw the fit is a hair past snug - so it has never moved, wobbled or lifted even after I installed the micro jig splitters on it. Item is a bit pricey but the performance for me is well worth it.
