Excellent set of simple bear bells and whistles. Stylish design with leather clip straps and metal bells. The bells and clips have an "aged" look to them that I really like. Comes with spare silencer rubber bands for when the bells are not in use ( I could see those wearing out over time & needing to be replaced - nice to have the extras on hand ).The whistles are loud and effective. Easy to use. Don't require hardly half a breath to get them whistling. And brightly colored to make them super convenient to locate in an emergency. All in all a simple yet effective set up for your hiking or biking packs. Enjoy!

I am an avid hiker and over the years have encountered my share of unwelcome intruders into my pathway. Such as skunks and bobcats. I love wildlife and viewing them is most times a treat. Some, however, I prefer to let know I'm passing through their environment. I have not encountered any bears yet and hope I don't. I do carry a potent spray deterrent for that if and when it occurs. If these bells do the trick to shoo them away, great. I usually hike with my niece so the 2-pack of these is nice. They're easy to attach to a belt loop, other clothing, or a backpack.

I lived in rural Alaska for decades. Up there anything that can hurt you is bigger than you, including bears. We are taught from a young age to make noise when walking through the woods. A bell is the best way to do this. Some bells are a low quality and don’t make a loud sound or get stuck. Not these they are well made and loud. These are good for carrying on a backpack or for putting on a dogs collar. It is nice that the two bells come with a tab that attaches to the bell and keep them from making noise. If you want to make noise or hike in the woods with bears get these bells

loud bells, but silencers are not convenient to put on. Whistles are loud too.

I take these on my hikes and they make me feel safer. The bells are loud and the strap and clip are quality. The craftmanship is good. I also like that it comes with extra bands to silence the bells. Since they are rubber, they will deteriorate over time. I also love that these come with emergency whistles. I carry these as well on hikes.

Perfect for a backpacking trip! Attached to my son's backpack and worked as we expected. It's small and compact making it easier to store in between trips.

There is no doubt that these are cute bear bells. I like the style and the color. The ring is adequate and should be sufficient to let critters know that a person (or dog) nearby and moving. If the loop is not real leather, then it's a very high-quality imitation; it looks really good. The bells would work well hung from a backpack; but I'm planning to use them also as Christmas decorations. The supplied pea-less whistles are adequate and better than nothing, though better whistles are made. Frankly, they needn't have been included in the set. If I'm going to carry a whistle (and I do daily), I want it to be a really loud-and-piercing one. These do not make the grade. So apart from the whistles, why am I dissing these bells so much? Quite simply because the attachment straps were assembled incorrectly! Whoever assembled my straps riveted the leather loop together so that there is no way to get the bell onto it. When I removed the screws to attach the bell, the loops remained riveted together. (see photo). The bells cannot be put onto the loops the way that they are pictured on the website with the bell hanging from the strap and the clip free to be fastened to a backpack. With a bit more thought (or possibly quality control) in assembly, these bells would be much better.

I like this set. You can easily clip the bells to your backpack or belt loop. The leather bands are really nice and easy to operate. The whistles are quite loud and well designed. I like the whistles because of the built in clip that adds convenience to where I can put it. It will slide securely on my backpack strap or any molle system. Super handy.
