It doesn’t come with the one knife needed to carve or whittle the handle of the spoon ! It comes with the spoon shaped wood and a couple other pieces of wood so you’d think it would have everything needed to start and finish the project but no! I tried a sharpened jack knife and a kitchen utility knife and neither were helpful so now I have to buy the knife needed which after researching is called A “ whittling SLOYED knife. I thought it came with a video it does not. It also doesn’t come with instructions. Idk maybe they’re selling this kit with the idea people buying it know to use them already 🤷♀️ That being said the kit itself does seem to be of good quality. The 11 tools each come with a cover and the storage case they fit in is pretty durable. Cant say anything about the sharpness or quality until I actually get a chance to use them. Will update if possible to add to this later

I am actually blown away with this set. I bought this for my seven year old son who is into wood carving but he has very little experience or tools to work with aside from one small knife I let him use. This kit is a great set of tools and he has really taken to using them already. The gloves are a little big for him but that is expected.He has a wide range of carving knives to test and figure out which is fascinating to him. The quality of everything in the kit is surprisingly high given the low price of this kit. Our neighbor who is into wood carving was surprised by how much came in it and he is going to get himself one. I think this is a fantastic starter kit for anyone interested in wood carving. You can use these for other projects and hobbies as well. I saw someone mention using it for pumpkin carving which is a great idea!

Bought this for a gift for my grandson. I haven't given it to him yet but I can't wait for him to see it and use it. It's a really nice set for the money and handles are comfortable. I think it's pretty cool for the money and the quality is pretty good too.

I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this set. I expected, because it is marked "beginner" that the quality would be substandard like you find with so many other "beginner" tool sets. The all have nice wood handles that are easy to hold reducing the chance that they will slip and cut you. They are also nice and sharp. For this reason I would strongly recommend that these are not used by younger children without careful adult supervision. The kit also comes with everything you need to keep your blades sharp. It also includes some nice pieces of wood to start learning how to carve wood. The roll of tape that is meant to protect your fingers bothers me. I have used this type of tape for a lot of things over the years and I am concerned that it might cause the wearer to have a false sense of protection. This tape can be torn with your bare hands and I would not trust it to deflect a cut. Everything else in the kit is all useful and well made. It is also a fairly good price when you break it down each piece cost about $1.09.
