Single use item, cheap plastic, harbor freight cutting bits. If you're looking for a tool to do multiple jobs look elsewhere. Use for narrower doors as it didn't fit my 1 3/4 solid core door properly and I had to finagle it to fit the right location.

I bought this to install deadbolts on a metal garage door and a wooden door. It worked perfect on both. You just have to use a bit of care when pushing it onto the door. It’s plastic and will crack if you use too much force (It cracked on me). It’s still good to use though and I used it on another door afterwards.

It broke down after few minutes of use. The very small part in the picture, a retainer of the tool, broke down and made the tool unusable. I could not even finish my first job.

Needed to open some existing holes for new locksets. This worked perfect.

Installed 2 deadbolts without any issues. Made the job easy. My arbor for the hole saws was bent a little but still worked. Don't expect to do 20 doors, but if you take your time it should last long enough to do a house. You will saw up your plastic guide if you are not careful. Overall, happy with it.

The good news: it works. You might get to use it on 2 or 3 doors. Not bad for the price.

I needed this product for a single door. Some reviewers criticized durability, but mine survived with no damage or issues that it would prevent me from using it again, possibly multiple times if necessary. The required holes were accurately placed for mounting door lock. It was very easy to use.

Use this jig carefully and it will give you good service. Follow the instructions !!! especially the part about only having the pilot bit stick past the hole saw 1/4" +/- 1/16". Start all the holes , remove the jig and then finish drilling the holes. This will keep from causing unnecessary wear to the jig from the hole saw gouging it. I did 9 doors with no damage that could affect it's future use. With this kind of care I expect to get years of service from this jig.

This is a very good jig with a couple of things to be aware of before purchasing.Pros:Very easy to use.Fits 1 3/8 and 1 3/4 door thicknesses.Keeps your doorknob/deadbolt hole in line with the latch hole.Is secured to the door using 2 screws situated where your latch mechanism will slide and coincides with the stroke plate screw holes.Cons:Pay close attention to the dimensions: 2.8 x 8.4 x 7 inches The 8.4" is especially important if you have a window, or ornate carvings. You will NOT be able to get the jig flat on the door if your window/carvings/etc is closer to the edge of the door than 8.4"I was unable to get the hole saw that came with it to fit through the hole in the jig. Instead I used one I already had. This may be unique to the product I received since it's plastic and sometimes there are small variations. But it's worth being aware of.Overall 4 stars,
