Ok, I've installed probably about 7 of these over the last few years, as I upgrade as they get better.Thought this one would be good...it kind of it, BUT....Installation:Already had a deadbolt in the door so I didn't have to do any drilling or use their template. So I can't speak to that, but the install still took me over 30 minutes, when I think it should have been ~10 minutes. Why? Because the lining up the screwholes correctly and trying to get it "just right". They are tiny, in a hard to see area, and it takes a little trial and error.Setup:Once it was installed, and 8 batteries in place, it was time to set it up. Spent 15+ minutes using the manual, which was "ok" but not great, and it wasn't working to get into the menu to set up fingerprints, etc. Finally did a "factory reset", as per the manual on how to do it, and then I was able to do the same steps I had been doing and get it set up with administrator passcode, fingerprints, and the IC cards. Also set up the wireless access with the app and my home wireless.Repeatedly tested all ways of access and they all worked.Updated below 4/27/25Actual use:Ok....here's where I have more/real issues...* The deadbolt locks on its own! So, if you are going in and out and don't want to lock the door, this is a PROBLEM! It's a problem for me and the wife is NOT happy about it. [Updated part follows] I finally found the setting in the manual. It's "in the small print", so to speak, as part of the nested settings where you set passcodes.I emailed the support, as per the manual, TWICE, over the last week+ and have NOT heard back even once. I will be replacing this one when I find a good replacement. [because support has been NON EXISTENT, I have removed 1 star from the review. To me, support contact doesn't happen often, but when it is needed, it should be replied to.)* Fingerprint recognition: Make sure you are setting it up exactly as you would use it. For me, I have a step down on the outside but I set it up from the inside. My fingerprints are "just off" because of that step down and I have to redo them. Makes it a real PITA. (Removed a star for this issue as well. If they had done it the same way a cellphone does the fingerprint set up, it would be better)* IC card works great!* App unlock/lock works great. Some people may not like Tuya, but I'm used to it from another smart lock and I'm fine with it.Also not happy about the 8 batteries. When I had 4 in, it was working. I still put in 8, but that's quite a few for only 6 months.And, because there is no reply from the email address in the manual....well, you may want to take that into account.
