The metal can & paint are good quality! The “safety” push valve spout ( mandated by law in so many uses) is fussy, jams, parts break and the “sealer” cap that closes the central opening of the screw cap when spout is stored has no place except a pants pocket. It is quickly is lost.

Here in the North Carolina mountains these cans are now as good as gold. Will need more.

UPDATE 5/14/2021: I bought this for $49.99 in Aug 2020. The current price is inflated! ORIGINAL RVW: This is exactly what I wanted. Threw me back to my military days. Produced by [the] Metal Can Company of Hamilton Park, IL. A good, reliable, solidly built metal 'jerry' can. Great balance, excellent welds, relatively comfortable handle, and auto-grade gloss paint finish. Comes with pouring spout that has an in-built air bleed tube for smooth pouring; and protective cap for when it's not in use. Has a lot of stickers on the can that aren't easy to remove (the only downside I've noted this far). Other than that, a VERY good product. Made in Latvia –for those concerned about sweatshops/trolling about American jobs/or who have politically-induced, country specific xenophobia.

Son contenedores útiles,me gustan pero los compré para mi mujer. Ella se le hace un poco difícil por que están muy lisos,yo recomiendo anexen una cinta o agarradera lateral para cuando se está basando.

I already own three of these cans. They do not leak, even in our Nevada desert heat, and have sustained heavy duty use in an off-road trailer. I highly recommend them. The "spill-proof" spout is like all the other "spill-proof" spouts; they are awkward, messy, and spill. I don't blame the can company, but the idiots in government. Like everyone I know, I use regular water can spouts that may vent some fumes, but do not spill.

Yes the cap is cheap but that doesn't mean you have to be! Buy the better cap and place the one it comes with in the cylindrical floor file and you will still be far ahead in price than buying a "real" Jerry can. Then you can beat the crap out of this can and when it breaks you set it out at 100 yards, fill it full of .223 holes (take the fancy new cap off first) and go out and pick up a new one.I put mine on my swing out spare holder on my Jeep (shown with the POS cap still installed) and it has served me well up to this point.3 YEAR UPDATE:The can and the new cap are still in place and have been on the Jeep every day for 3 years. A few places where the paint has worn off but it still holds and pours gas just fine.6 YEAR UPDATE:Still on the back of the Jeep and still holding gas. Its rusty in spots and sun faded but it does its job every day. The new price is now in the ridiculous range though!!! But i guess the fuel it holds is WAY beyond the ridiculous range in price now days so it makes sense. L.G.B.
