Sound is thin, almost anemic. I put them in a kit jazzmaster to try out, and am just not impressed. I knew they wouldn't put out like a P-90, but these seem to be about the same output as a lipstick tube pickup. They look pretty cool, I may try them out in a different project on down the line.

These are really different sounding pickups, they're basically mini humbuckers and seem nicely made. They're very low in impedance and output, so they have a distinct clarity both clean and driven. Straight into an amp they are quiet and a bit plinky sounding, they remind me of an old Japanese hollow body I had decades ago. But add some clean drive just after the guitar and they come alive, really interesting sounding. They are microphonic but I think that adds to the tone, high gain might be a problem with them. I mounted just the pickups to the std humbucker mounting rings in the guitar to try them out, the width is the same so they work fine, there's just a gap on top and bottom. If I decide to keep them in this guitar I'll come up with something else to mount them, the metal rings they come with won't fit a std humbucker footprint or try them in another guitar. I you're into modding guitars give these a try for only $15 you can't go wrong

Great sounding pickups. I've only used one so far - installed at the neck position on a Tele. Sounds really good. DC resistance was exactly as advertised (~7.5K). Its a good mate with the single coil bridge pickup - not as "hot" or beefy sounding as most humbuckers. And it looks fabulous. Excellent value for the money.

Put these on a Rick 325 type body that I had cut out of pine, mostly because they looked right. They not only look great on the finished guitar but they also sound great! Considering that none of the other parts or materials I used are anywhere near close to authentic, the pickups at least get me to the right ballpark - and at a fraction of the cost for the "real thing".
