The pedal assist sensor that I received is defective. It did not work on my ebike so I tested it using a 5 volt DC power supply and volt meter. The output does not switch (high - low - high - low) when the magnet disk is rotated. Obviously, the hall effect sensor is not responding to the changing magnetic field. I verified this with an external magnet too. It is not worth my effort to return so I'll just have to accept it as a loss.
