This little meter is awesome. I use for homemade topical formulation and for my aquarium. Super easy to calibrate and use, readings are straight forward and the instructions are clear. Comes with everything shown (see posted picture) and is a decent size without being too large to easily store. This has been such a time saver and gives me peace of mind knowing I'm not using strips which can be finicky and misleading. Multiple functions are also helpful, takes temp and pH for me on my water phases when formulating my skin products.Design is sleak, and for only $35 this has already paid for itself (bottles of pH strips aren't exactly cheap and I go through them fast). Great price, great product, highly recommend!

This pH/EC/TDS meter works. It comes with three small vials for pH calibration, and calibration is simple and quick. It is easy and quick to get a reading, and appears to be accurate, although I don't have a way other than that calibration liquids to verify its accuracy. It should easily get 5 stars for this.I have a tiny beef with saying that is is a 4-in-one meter. The TDS (total dissolved solids) is actually the same test as total electrolyte concentration (EC), just presented differently. That is a bit like claiming that it is a 5-in-one because it measures in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. I think that most people would never select this instrument for use as a thermometer; it is included to adjust the pH readings. To me, this is two-in-one meter, and that is fine.My real issue is that the instruction sheet cautions that the sponge in the cap should be kept moist - but the there is NO SPONGE IN THE CAP. This sponge should contain potassium chloride which keeps the glass bulb of the pH electrode moist and keeping the the readings accurate. Without it, the meter will not last long. The moisture and KCL are crucial for the electrode to function properly.LACK OF CUSTOMER SUPPORT - In the product description page, and in the product manual customer support is promised within 24 hours. I emailed to ask about the missing sponge three times a few days apart and have not had a reply. The meter is fine and works well. I was just unlucky to get one with a missing sponge. The lack of promised customer support is the issue here.

This is a nice all in one sort of pH/EC/TDS/Temp meter. Comes as a fairly complete set up, in that it comes with small containers of the 3 pH calibration solutions and batteries. In fact, it arrived with batteries already in the unit, plus a second spare set of 4 AAA batteries. I appreciate that they didn't cheap out there and went the extra mile to make it an easy out of the box experience. Before first use, you'll need to calibrate the pH; the EC is pre-calibrated. The initial reading was quite off, but they do clearly state that it is not factory calibrated for pH. Once I got it calibrated to the first solution (pH 7), the other 2 came in very close, even before calibration. So, I'm pleased. Being a handheld unit, this is definitely easier to use than my old pH meter. Numbers line up with what the city says that my tap water should test out at, so that's a good sign. Eventually, I'll compare it to my old fee standing pH and TDS meters, but I'm not expecting any surprises.Instructions are clear. Calibrating is easy. Not much to say there. I like that the instructions are laminated in plastic. That will add some longevity to it. A nice little touch. For now, I'll likely use this mostly for home brewing. But, I do have plans to get a salt water aquarium up and running this year, so I'm planning to put the meter through it's paces over time.I'm quite happy to recommend this combo 4 in 1 meter.

I only place Vine orders on items I intend to use and keep. This was to replace a soil ph unit that my father-in-law gave us years ago so we can garden again. It was (is) a Brookstone model with only two probes and it will still sort of work but I wanted an upgrade, plus it's from a time when we had ashtrays on the armrests of our car doors. It's old. This arrived as 'GIDIGI new update instrument' on the box front and a few cautions on the box rear. Okay.I open it up and was surprised at the apparent quality. There are batteries included but it came already loaded with batteries! The body, probe cover and probes are quality.I'm on a tear to replace alkaline batteries with lithium (available on the 'Zon) AAA and AA's. So if I put it away I'm not ruining a good tool. The other option is to put the removed batteries in a plastic holder along with the device when you need it.So the meter reads ph, total dissolved solids (TDS), temperature and conductivity. The control buttons are clearly marked. The manual! It's a really nice, well laid out, complete trip through the device. It's printed on heavy paper that's laminated and folded over on itself. All the information is there but take your time to read it. It is very complete. I read tech manuals all the time and with its Chinese origin expected a lot of translation issues but I found only one section that had minor interpretation problems. No probs. The rest of it is intuitive and shows the buttons to push along with the narrative and expected responses. This is like getting a new multimeter so take your time with it.There are sections on calibrating it and they work well. It came with three bottles of ph standards to calibrate it. Do this by the kitchen sink so you can flush the probe. I'm careful about cross contamination so I wanted to flush between tests/uses. They show using a container of distilled or clean water between calibrations. I gently flushed it.Check out their videos on Youtube under Gidigi. They're short and to the point. You can turn down the sound unless you enjoy the happy happy joy joy music. They put the english translation on the screen.Okay I tell you all that to say I wanted to originally test soil. I stuck it in the ground and see it reads something acidic (needs lime) but this is really made for liquids. So now we're pulling out the aerogarden (a mini hydroponic system) we never set up! It needs monitoring for the water parameters, so voila! What a happy story, eh?
