Good idea but looks terrible hanging from mirror it’s far to long and intrusive tighter to the bottom of the mirror would have been a keeperUpdate.. customer representative was awesome in offering a solution

I am glad that I found this and was able to get rid of my janky zip-tie setup. I didn't want to stick my dashcam onto my windshield with anything sticky, and the suction cup devices always shake loose over time. This mount was the perfect answer for my needs. I have found it to be very stable, and my dashcam videos are easy to watch thanks to the stability. A+

My detector Mount seems to have been missing one of the 2 small screws that retains left/right yaw, hard turns spin my detector around like a carousel. The mount can barely hold the detector at a constant level and constantly starts to dip even when tightened alot or a little (tried to solve it myself first).Credit where its due, I got this to get the detector out of my console and out of the way of my shifter while im driving. It does do that, holds it up, got it plugged in at least does that but you gotta mess with it all the time :Think this could be really solid product if the hardware is addressed and also maybe the locking mechanism I made sure I had a compatible unit and it doesnt really engage properly I think its just barely in it.

Edit:2-3 months after original review:This failed. The radar no longer stay in place and swivels left and right as I drive. Upon inspection, the clip that slides into the radar is mounted with two tiny screws that work themselves loose over time. By the time I noticed this,the tiny screw is lost into oblivion. I'll have to hunt for a replacement tint screw later, but I suspect this will be recurring based upon the design.------------I was looking for a regular suction cup style mount for my cobra radar detector. I haven't used a radar detector in a while but someone gave me this one as a gift. I hard wired it but had no mount so haven't used it yet.I was worried about not being able to freely use my windshield sunvisor easily w the suction cup style radar mount and happened to see this style on Amazon. I'm OCD and like everything clean without a lot of visible wires, so I'd thought I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did!The box is deceiving. It looks like an unorganized jumble of parts and no isntructions. Once you take the parts out, they are mostly pre-assembled. I came back to the Amazon listing and one of the photos is the mounting instructions... It took my longer to write this review than to attach the mount.The distance away from the windshield allows me still use the sunvisor. And the distance hanging below the rear view mirror allows my dash cam (mounted directly behind the rear view mirror) to be unobstructed as well.It seems solid. I'm very happy. Good price point for function and ease of use. Looks good - ie: you cant see much of it once hung... I'll update if it gives me an issues while driving.

I use this on my second generation valentine one I got it to work and it’s fantastic. The competitive is all one four or five times the price. This is worth every pending and I’ll tell you something. This looks a lot nicer than the competitors.
