I really like the clear display, and the buttons and dials are pretty easy to figure out.My NPR station comes in crystal clear, as do the local AM sports stations. None of that is true on my similarly priced Tecsun.Unfortunately there isn't much good on short wave in the US anymore, but I can catch several stations. I am looking forward to trying it on an upcoming overseas trip.Good price, good size, old school-no need to fuss with cards or chargers. The two AAs I have in there have lasted a long time.

The radio worked quite well for about nine and a half months; after which it completely died. I can’t recommended it.

This radio is not worth $5, poor reception, only function working is the AM radio and poor at that. Also the light works and no batteries with it. Save your money avoid this product.

Radio for those who listens to shortwave stations, fm reception is great. Value for money. Quite handy to carry around and price also affordable. Go for it!

Would be just ok at half this price. I haven't found a good personal FM Stereo receiver yet. My pocket radios have better reception and better sound thru headphones than this. It shows frequent error signs when tuning which set you back at the beginning of the dial; you have to use the dial. Sound is too treble. Stereo works well as does shortwave reception. At this price you can do better for half.Update: Raised to 4 stars. It's not perfect, but I do appreciate the FM Stereo and digital tuning. Begin by scan/ saving all your band presets to avoid a constant NULL message. Or you can avoid buttons completely and use the dials. I'm liking it better the longer I use it. Also the price isn't bad comparatively.

I was skeptical about the quality of such a cheap radio but my more expensive Sangean has a couple of bugs that drive me nuts. So I figured it was time to try something else. I like the 2AA battery, headphone jack and side scroll tuning and volume wheels configuration. USB rechargeable radios make me cringe, it's just not natural. The reception is on par with my Sangean, plus this has SW as well. Audio is clear through the speaker and ear bud. The best thing I like about this radio is that when scrolling through stations with the scroll wheel, after a few scrolls it starts scanning automatically until it hits a signal or you stop it. No complaints at all really other than the back light turns off too quickly. It's really a good radio. SW reception is not that good but it's not on my other SW Yachtboy either. I will try SW again next time I travel.

this replaces a sony running radio that cost over twice as much and weighed slightly more, which i would have kept until it bonked out...and in fact i did, as it went out on me the same day i ordered this. the technology was about 7yrs old, when i bought it, so i think it did really well for its genre. but now i had to replace, and hoped new technology would be better at a lower price. short story shorter: yes. at least if talking about this radio. my strategy with something utilitarian, as tunes during my 60min runs, is to find the best ratings with as many people rating the item, at my price. honestly did not expect to get something this low in price, but i didn't have the money for more. and the reviews were many and among the several top rated. how'd it do? as my title says, amazing. the sound is better than what it replaced, tho i did need to buy my own stick on clip. also had to use the headphones i already had, all of which was fine. clips were $6. after my first 60min run i'll say this is a dream for running or other extreme compact use, AND it holds 2 batteries, which means longer play that my old radio which held just one. i can't think of a better radio to purchase under $20 if looking for something that sounds good and is small and light.

Great multiband pocket radio. SW reception is great even with short antenna. Clip a wire on the antenna and reception gets even better! FM is good and AM band is good too. The one thing that is stellar on this radio is the audio, the sound from this little radio is THE BEST!!! The only improvements this pocket radio could use is improvement of the AM band reception, but with that said I am a DX AM band enthusiast so I can be a bit particular about AM reception on a radio receiver. You will absolutely love this radio, best feature is AA battery rather than recharge BS.
