This was very easy to install. It didn’t take very long. I like that it is a dual detector. It makes me feel safe to know that it has both the smoke and carbon monoxide detector.

I installed this about a month ago. It chirped slightly when I slid it into position (which turns it on).Installation is easy. It comes with some anchors for mounting.Battery life claims to be a number of years. Obviously, we'll have to see how that goes. So far, it's been fine. It did activate during cooking when a bunch of smoke filled the room, so I expect that it works.

This detector is really cool. You don't have to remember any special tone to know what response to make, it tells you that it's detecting smoke or that the CO is at a dangerous level.I also like the fact you never have to change or recharge the battery. The battery life is 10 years, which is also the lifespan of the radioactive sensor that is used in smoke detectors. You should write the date of manufacture (it's on the package) of a smoke detector right on the detector unit before installing it, unless there's a sticker or similar in the battery compartment with that info. This unit doesn't "activate" until you twist lock it into place and that's a one-shot deal so you need to choose the mounting spot carefully and install the mounting plate before testing this unit.The one downside is the instructions are in very tiny type. Due to the difficulty of trying to read them with a magnifier, I didn't read the whole set of instructions. But then, there's not a lot to know. As with any gas or smoke detector, you want to mount it away from dead air spaces. Most of my smoke detectors are mounted close to a warm air return and because my HVAC blower is always pulling air through the system, smoke will be drawn to the detector. That's the main thing, other than don't go screwing the mounting plate to the unit before mounting the mounting plate to the ceiling.It's generally advised to not mount a smoke detector in a kitchen due to false alarms from frying or other smokey actions. This detector has dual-wave detection to reduce false alarms. If you have a gas stove, you can mount this unit in the kitchen so you also detect any CO that might result from improper combustion.

This is a 10-year battery operated Smoke and Carbon monoxide alarm which is a must have in every room of the house. While I have tested the alarm and found it wo be working great, I hope I never need to use it in an actual emergency.Still, it is very reassuring to have this a dual action alarm if the time comes for it to work and save lives from Fire/Smoke or Carbon Monoxide. As of this writing it is on sale, and this would be a great time to replace all your alarms.

I found the smoke and carbon monoxide detector to be user-friendly and very easy to set up right out of the package. Some reviewers stated that the directions were hard to read, but I didn’t find them any more difficult than those of other products. I just put on my reading glasses, and the print was clear and easy to read.Say goodbye to earlier models that required a 12-volt battery—there's no need to worry about climbing a ladder every few years to replace it. The alarm is loud and clear, so it can be heard from quite a distance. Even if you are a deep sleeper, this unit will surely wake you up and alert you if smoke or carbon monoxide is detected, allowing you to take appropriate action and retreat outdoors to safety. It also provides audio alerts in both English and Spanish, which is very helpful for serving both language speakers. I only needed the English version, though, and I kind of wish I could turn off the Spanish audio, but as far as I can tell, there isn't an option to do that on this unit.The construction of the unit is solid, and it has a high decibel output with a battery life that lasts for years. Its onboard functions make it easy for anyone to operate and set up. It’s easy to mount, or you can use double-sided tape like I did, so I wouldn’t have to drill holes in the walls.I am confident in this product as I tested it several times before hanging it up. As a matter of fact, this one outperforms my older plug-in unit, which didn’t have nearly as many functions as this one does.Incredible value and quality!
