I'm giving this five starts for two different reasons. 1), it works as expected and is easy to read. I used to have pool thermometers you had to pull out and look at where the red liquid lined up with the markings, and the tube invariably would shift from its original position, so who knew what the actual temperature was? That is not a problem here. Just drop it in the pool and tie it to the side if you want.Which brings me to 2), check out the images of the instructions. This is unintentionally comedic. Don't put the floating pool thermometer in water. You can tell a lawyer went to town on the how to safely use a device you literally let go of in a pool, even though your not supposed to let it get wet? I'll spare you the details about children or unsupervised persons with reduced mental abilities. (I am not making this up.)The unit works. It's fine. The instructions are hysterical.

I’ve been using this floating digital pool thermometer for a while now, and overall, I’m pretty happy with it. The digital display is clear and easy to read, even from a distance, and it gives quick, consistent temperature readings that match up closely with my manual thermometer. It floats well, doesn’t tip over, and seems to be holding up fine in the water and sun so far.My main gripe is the instructions—they’re vague. It requires 2 AAA batteries (not included) but also has a small solar panel. Does it run on solar during the day and batteries at night? Does the solar recharge the batteries? I have no idea, and the instructions do not explain. They do not say to install rechargeable AAA batteries, so I am not sure what's going on there. I put in regular non-rechargeable batteries. I may try getting rechargeable batteries and see what happens.

We have a small pool at home and previously relied on a floating analog thermometer. After seeing this product advertised, I decided to give it a shot. Overall, I'm impressed with its design and build quality—it has a sleek appearance, a convenient size, and a clear display of the temperature. The controls are straightforward and well-placed. Most of the time, the sun provides sufficient solar power to keep it running, but for extended cloudy periods, it also operates on batteries. It's worth noting that the solar panel does not charge the batteries; they simply serve as an alternative power source. If you're in the market for a pool thermometer, this is a solid choice!

I really wanted to give this a great rating but it's 5 degrees off. I have another device that I can measure pool temp, PH, Salt, etc. This floating device shows it's about 5 over. It's a shame it's not accurate because the LED Display is nice and large and it floats really well so the counter weight keeping it from tipping much. Maybe mine is defective :(

It’s nice to have a pool thermometer that doesn’t have to have a battery and is solar powered, but a battery backup could be helpful depending where you live. I’m in Florida and sunshine is a given although we have had several dreary days, but it always comes back. I have had several pool thermometers of all different types, just floaters, wireless with remote receiver (one lasted years and another didn’t make the summer) so this is something new for me. Without putting 2 AA batteries in, it will work when it is exposed to the sun, but no operation without the sun. I think this is probably not going to be a problem in most cases, just something to be aware of. I chose not to use batteries and it’s working out just fine, I don’t need to know the water temp when it’s dark out, Overall, it is a great solution for most people, just be aware of how it operates.

We live on Hutchinson Island in Florida and I use the hot tub each afternoon for Physical Therapy (I'm 77). I want to know what the water temperature is in both the hot tub (for PT) and the pool (for the cool down). I just put this floating thermometer in both and when compared to the temperature reading on my $2,000 Omega Divers Watch it was accurate within 0.2 degrees. The thermometers the association puts in both are there for "reference" only and are never accurate. This was so accurate that if a kid does not steal it in the next week I will really like to look at the temps. I'll try to remember to report back on it's longevity.

This floating thermometer does everything you would expect it to. It's more compact in size than I thought it would be, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It does require two AAA batteries (not included). The digital display is a nice large size, and easily readable from standing on the edge of the pool. With fresh batteries and a trickle charge by the solar panel, I expect a set of batteries to last a full summer. Both F and C temperature readings work as intended. He temperature readings updates about every 15 seconds, providing accurate and timely measurement.Overall, this is a good product to gauge the temperature of the water toward the surface level.

This floating solar pool thermometer works really well. The digital display is clear and easy to read, and the temperature matched my pool controller readings during the day while the pump was running—so it seems very accurate. It powered up quickly after being exposed to sunlight, and the solar charging has been smooth so far, with no issues getting a reading. It also comes with a string, which is handy if you want to tie it off instead of letting it float freely.Overall, this is a reliable and easy-to-use option if you're looking for a digital pool thermometer that doesn't need batteries or fussing.
